Went to Lidles for some of their excellent small toms and came out with a coffee grinder. I'm not convinced I can tell the difference between ready ground and fresh ground. But the whirring sound when grinding is very satisfying. Oh noes. Someone will be along in a minute to tell you about using a hand grinder for coffee as you get "better" coffee. I use a hand grinder simply because I don't drink enough coffee to justify a fancy electric one. As to taste, It's different and good and a nice change but nothing really special. Though the whole process of grinding the beans and then waiting for the drips to finish is fun and also the only time I put cream in my coffee*, so an occasional treat. *who do you think would be the first to turn this into a sex thing? |

For proper coffee you need a pet civet; feed it the beans then follow it around and decant the partially digested from the poop that falls from t'other end. Wash, gently roast and that's Kopi luwak... You could try with a cat, but I suspect that neither the cat nor the coffee will be improved. So Kurt Zouma was just trying to get his coffee beans out of the cat? |
