Hope lazy has packed his waterproof breeks for the journey north and put dubbin on his monkey boots.
I've had a coffee and calmed down. My meeting has been cancelled - but has transformed into a zoom call. Which is possibly worse. Heading home at lunchtime.

Is this how Napoleon felt, stuck on the island of Elba? Napoleon escaped from Elba and returned to Paris, where he regained supporters and reclaimed his emperor title. Following his defeat at Waterloo he was exiled to St, Helena where he died. Every day a school day! Actually, Napoleon's journey from the French coast to Paris was marked by periodic attempts to stop or arrest him. (see Wikipedia) By midway he had already got a small army of those who were still loyal to him. Those that weren't initially his he managed to persuade - his charisma must have been enormous. '...when royalist troops were deployed to stop the march of Napoleon's force at Laffrey, near Grenoble, Napoleon stepped out in front of them, ripped open his coat and said "If any of you will shoot his Emperor, here I am."
