Red weather incoming for our wurzel friends tomorrow then. It looks like Scubar will be without electricity so taking a day off to play games seems a waste. Also Shengers and Tiddles will be farting in the dark. How very dare you you. I don't fart, I foff.
Foff, foff, foff...
That's how I roll.

I’ve just been reading The Good Book. Leviticus has some strong injunctions. Some strong penalties too. Death penalties and burning. Come on The Lord. Give us a break. I've been reading The Anatomy of God, very interesting. If I were to have my studying days over again I think I'd get into the OT big time. Fascinating how it links in with the other cultures of the time. That is interesting. I haven’t got the timelines matched up. Were the people of Canaan Phoenecian?

Were the people of Canaan Phoenecian? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhoeniciaYes. The history of the Torah is fascinating. I very much enjoyed this book. The questions over when the Jews discovered monotheism were intriguing. The bible both is and isn't what it appears to be. It is a history of the Jews and their faith, but it was large written or at least put together in Babylon apparently, by Jews who were not so much in exile as had moved to the big city with the nice gardens.

I've got that bible book, but like most of my books, I haven't read it. I am playing the Forgotten City instead. It's pretty good so far (8 minutes in).

Happy birthday tenthenemyThe books of the OT are a curious mix, much taken out of them by later translators. The fact that the whole 'virgin mother' bit may have been as a result of a bad translation into Greek is one with no obvious consequences..... But yep, OT god is sometimes jaunty, othertimes less so.

Well, so far so good, Total Warhammer 3 opens on my laptop, and the menu buttons all seem to work. Next step will be actually starting a game.

Goes under different names as well. Sometimes YHWH sometimes Elohim I'm not saying it refers to two different gods, but if not it seems likely he is/was involved in some Bronze Age identity fraud. I am always suspicious of someone with no vowels in their name as well and he didn't want it pronounced. Presumably partly because the lack of vowels makes it difficult.

I just bought a DVD for a friend's birthday - Driller Killer. The 1979 film? The original video nasty that got the Video Recordings Act 1984 passed to protect our tiny little minds from BAD films. I'm not sure I've ever seen it. Though I have seen plenty of terrible horror films.

That would take your mind off the seasickness at least briefly.
The wave, not being over 60.
