I think it’s because, if you don’t play in Hard Mode, then you can use a subsequent guess to try / rule out other letters. So you could try a whole new set of letters for guess two, to hit the sweet spot of getting it in guess three. |

We are staying in this converted barn / hayloft. The main room is very long, with the bed at one end and a door out to some some steps outside. It’s a window door, so you can’t help but feel that there’s the possibility of waking up at 3am to find the face of some shambling humanoid abomination pressed up against the glass.
There were a couple of bumps in the night too.
What’s wrong with me?

Chumbles recently posted an informative (though overlong) video about this. Or, rather, about information theory and Wordle. I think it is worth noting that completing Wordle increases universal entropy, and this literally hastens the heat death of the universe. You Wordle-playing Greta-hating bastards.

Actually there is an outer door that you can pull over the window door. But it’s even more terrifying to think that a humanoid abomination could shamble up the steps and pull the outer door aside.
I was able, to be honest, to eventually lock / half-lock this outer door but by this point I’d begun to develop quite a well rounded sense of the isolation of the place.
We went to a restaurant last night owned by an ex-Tornado pilot. He used to intercept the Russian bombers as they flew past. I was half of a mind to ask him what he thought of the Russian / Ukraine situation but I didn’t want to kill the vibe. Besides I was extremely full and my face had begun to shine like a pink beacon.

More After Party and an episode of The Promise - cop thing from the folk who did Spiral.
The child has asked for a cd player for her room as part of her birthday, which is a few months away. Looking at something with Bluetooth as well as she'll tire of cd's about a week after her birthday.
Off to the in-laws after lunch for a bit. Been sent the blue box lft's instead of the green boxes. They're shite in comparison.

Morning all! The wilds of Scotland have done it for lazybones’ sanity. I can’t say that I’m surprised. TVblog: finished the fifth series of Community. OTTM: actually got to eat with the family last night! I’ve missed them terribly. After putting the boy to bed, I then went out in search of sweet charge for the car - there’s still a skip on my drive, and I shouldn’t really leave the car under 20% charged. Discovering the nearest points still had a knackered “fast” charger (43kw versus 7kw), and drove into Brighton. There’s a lovely row of the fast chargers up from Preston Park, and all but one were available. And free to use! 40 mins from 15% to 80%, much better than the five hours the 7kw one forecast. It then took me an hour to get home, because the A27 was shut - but they didn’t tell you til you got to the exit in the roundabout. Handy. |

Jims, Uncharted LL. Much nicer out of the city. Murdered loads of goons and picked up a sweet golden silencer pistol after some pointlessly easy 'lock picking'.
Off to Sainsburys shortly.
Going to try making some tandoori chicken tonight to go with some breads, dips/sauce and salad.
