Weather blog: Windy out there. I really should be picking up stuff from the pharmacy and get a haircut but I don't wanna.
The grandchildren's parents were concerned because unwisely they let their back garden get surrounded by trees, those sneaky bastards. Have they learnt nothing from Birnam Wood? Their fears were realised when Eunice brought down their neighbour's tree. Luckily it didn't hit any of the houses or the fence. The trees in my garden are fortunately small and far away, but there's a massive tree right in front of my house. It's never shown any signs of weakness and I keep rooting for it whilst hoping that it's been rooting for itself.
Microwave blog: the new microwave works and the Yodel bloke came to pick up the wobbly one.
Gamesblog: the Sunday Trails in the Sky SC went on for a bit too long, as usual, but we made good progress. I didn't get enough sleep, what else is new. The weather yesterday evening whilst the game stream was going on was ghastly, so it was a surprise when during a brief lull people nearby were setting off fireworks at f@&%ing 12:40 a.m. Was this a celebration of the Olympic curling gold? Whatever it was, it shows dedication and that my neighbours are loony imbeciles.

After most of the day on the phone trying to sort out the NHS, I got a letter in the latest round of bollocks to do with treating / ?curing the arterial problems in my legs. I've finished lunch - I was cooling down before starting to try and sort the latest f*%k ups. It's planned perfectly 1. Wrong scan 2. Wrong part of the body 3. Wrong hospital 4. Too short notice |

Machine guns tend to be full-auto or off. Assault rifles tend to have single shot, burst or full auto. SMG's tend to be burst or auto. Obviously I only know this from playing video games so could be complete bunk. Also - Special forces bunny hop everywhere when storming buildings. SMGs can be single fire also. Those policemen in the train station with MP5s are probably not allowed to use anything but single fire in the event of an "incident". I don't know. Massacring everyone because the train is late seems a pretty proportionate response. I'd be fairly confident that when automatic weapons are issued there are circumstances in which the automatic bit can be used. Otherwise they would be issued with single shot weapons. |

It's just a show of force. No way are they ever spraying automatic guns in crowded railway stations, the chance of a ricochet hitting someone would be enormous. I wouldn't be suprised if the guns were modded to only do single fire. Same for the G36 rifles they carry.

The main rifle the police use is the MP5SF (single fire) semi-automatic, and refer to it as a carbine rather than a submachine gun. The only rifle used by British Transport Police is the LMT CQB SBR Carbine, and again it is a semi-automatic limited to a single shot. Naturally, various forces also have rifles / carbines / submachine guns capable of fully automatic fire.
In general, the police don't need guns to kill people; in the year to 31st March 2021 there were 191 deaths relating to policing in England and Wales, but only one was a shooting.
