Elden Ring Started it. Played a couple of hours. S'alright innit. Mostly I have been picking flowers and smashing up soldiers in the starting area. Like a medieval Putin. I met a couple of bigger enemies who sliced me up good. It's very much a souls game with fewer walls. Though it mostly lack the oppressive sense of dread that characterises Souls I've been watching a playthrough which consists of the chap riding his horse around the beginning bit to help find good starting resources. Most of the time he's commenting "nope, you don't want to fight this one". Game looks very impressive. Perhaps after I finish Far Cry 6 and Ass Valhalla. In short when Elden Rings III is out. |

I played a bit of Dark Souls 2 at lunchtime. I'm in a section which reminds me a bit of the worst parts of Dark Souls. There are things which add difficulty but which don't necessarily make sense. Like not being able to lock on to ghosts. If you can see a ghost you should be able to lock onto it, surely? It seemed a bit unfair ... There was also a cave that destroyed all my armour and rings. This seemed less unfair really, but still ... I can't imagine what kind of force could shatter a ring - four rings - in that way.
It's not quite approaching the invisible paths in Dark Souls, but ... even so ...

I vaguely thought of English_Pint_Legend in the same way as IAMDEANER or DrunkenKlam or ... the man who misused the Chatters ASCII art. Also - I pictured Babyfark (apologies, BabyfarkmcGeezak , for talking about you in the third person) as an American man with a weightlifting belt.
