PM has COVID. She just seems to have cold-like symptoms so far. I am of course rockin' bravely on. Here's hoping that it stays cold-like and mild. Wishing her a speedy recovery. I suppose you bravely rockin' on involves gaining another level at Tarkov? |

Morning all,
P&O chat.
Boris goes from one catastrophe to another. Whether there is a link between his visit to Dubai and what happened isn't clear, but not allowing press photographers with him (bad photo ops) just annoyed the press further. Hence the Dubai link being offered up by most outlets. Streisand effect right there.
Starmer has done well to avoid the Brexit traps in the recent period. Boris has been itching to have Starmer complain about queues at ports etc so he can gee up his base. This instance has Brexit knitted into it but Starmer won't bite. He'll presumably play it as a workers rights and Boris giving away UK jobs to foreign workers. This will confuse the Mail. Expect he'll ask Boris at PMQs whether this was discussed in the Dubai trip just to pin him.
In other news I picked up Horizon FW. Can't wait to give it a go.

I don't think that bit is true. Isn't it a bit of Reagan/Thatcher dogma which we've been conned into thinking is some kind of ancient legal requirement? Mind you, I am still drunk from last night so it might just be the beer talking. Yes and no. Sort of. Directors effectively work for and have their fates decided by shareholders; those who don't maximise shareholder value (whether that means share price or a more enlightened and wider vision of what that means) are less likely to have long and well-paid careers. Plus the Companies Act 2006 requires any director to "act in the way he* considers, in good faith, would be most likely to promote the success of the company for the benefit of its members as a whole". (For a company limited by shares, shareholders are almost always members. It's a technical use of the word members, and doesn't include, e.g., employees.) *Parliament's sexism to assume that references to the male include the female, not mine. Directors have a statutory duty to promote the interests of the company, but this does not stretch to breaking employment law, which they have done by not telling the DTI, not giving proper notice and not engaging in redundancy consultations. The associated bad publicity will harm P&O. I would not now use them (I intend to go to France this year) unless they were a lot cheaper than Eurotunnel and DFDS. |

Beautiful day today, looks set for a week, Bonnet De Douche Boycey, Bonnet De Douche.
Elden Ring, got into the academy. Some knights who appear to have been to magic school and some spinny scissor-armed twats taught me a lesson.
OTTM, BabyF - tell the PM to get back to work. Boris got covid done. It's over. He saved us.

Morning all. I forgot to mention yesterday that I washed my car. The rain on Wednesday brought down a lot of dust - left a right mess. Dinnerblog: I had fish and chips from the fish and chip shop. Boodiful. Boozeblog: had some Guinness last night. Not because of an Irish religious festival, but because it was in the fridge. I followed it up with a glass of rum, said rum having been bought at the historic dockyard on Saturday. I was horrified/delighted to discover it is 57%. Rum from a dockyard is navy strength? Colour me shocked! |

I'm not sure when I'll carry on with the main story, I've been doing sub quests and exploring and more places keep turning up. I'm currently obsessed with getting a certain summons, which is obtained by beating one of those people in prison and I'm getting stuffed, will probably need to respec again to an all out str build with a big sword.

I'm about 3 hours in. Not beaten a single boss yet. I beat a little rat guy in a cave, was he a boss? probably not. It made a change from killing squirrels and tortoises. I doubt I'll ever see any further than the first area. |
