I'd have thought that the person who suffered the loss would dictate the word used.

On the other hand, we all regret Tuffers passing. Especially as he's not dead.

I'd have thought that the person who suffered the loss would dictate the word used. And what if, incredibly, many people suffered the loss? Who gets to describe it? * * I vote me.

On another note, I appear to have Netflix all to myself. About bloody time. Anything good on there?

I was clearly* talking about someone other than yourself going through the shit of someone dying, but each to their own. This is too morbid now, I cede to you the victory. *If it wasn't clear I apologise.

Never apologise. I'm with you on this Felice. My loss, my choice of words. That cop 'joke' is bloody awful.
I'm taking a break from this blog forthwith.

When passing on news of passing on, bucket kicking, carking it or other bad things I'd favour clarity followed by sympathy. I have had to do it a few times, mostly when elderly ill people went to a better/worse place. Once or twice a bit of a shock.
If you have a few people to tell you need to be clear. Some details. You don't want to spend half an hour on each call. They are heavy lifting at best. Clarity is generally a kindness to both of you. You have to let someone tell you something in their way though.

BDW has become BDT. I am currently having to drink for Shenguin. It's a heavy burden just carrying the empties.
