I've had my first go at the Ring. It has a slight Dragon's Dogma vibe mixed in with the Soulsness. After 2 hours play I have died many times and the PS5 informs me that my progress is 0%. What build you using? Got the horse yet? |

I'm still very tired because I played Xenoblade into the early hours of the morning. Only the thought of playing more Xenoblade is keeping me awake right now. Proper addiction.
No luck on the ice cabbage front, though. It's needed for Colony 6 and a quick Google confirms that it's a real stumbling block because of its exceptional rarity. Guess I will continue tracking through the snowfields.
Yesterday's first time Skyrim stream was amusing. Generally one thing that's entertaining (or frustrating, depending on the situation) about watching on Twitch is how fundamentally differently other people play games. I already knew that this particular player hates sneaking and rarely makes use of his bow; he also pays very little attention to the dialogue. If I was playing Fortnite I'd probably turn into the game's first agony aunt because I always do; I listen to everyone and try to solve everyone's problems. I'm mortified by the very thought of missing a side quest.
So he reached Riverwood (he poked his nose into Embershard Mine and left immediately because he thought he was in the wrong place; the total opposite of what I would do because mooching around is what I do best in games) and then completed the Golden Claw quest at Bleak Falls Barrow. So far, so conventional.
He returned the claw to Lucan Valerius and then started shoplifting every item that wasn't nailed down until Camilla caught him. So he murdered both of them and even got their inheritance as a result. Now, I remember that I was also caught stealing but in my case Lucan and Camilla beat the snot out of me. From there on I made sure that my Dragonborn was a very good girl. This player, on the other hand, proceeded to orphan the children of Riverwood by killing most of the village (poor Alvor! poor Faendal! No free archery lessons). So naturally as he was approaching Whiterun he was already in trouble with the police and a Whiterun Guard was waiting for him. So he killed him, too. He then entered one of the farm houses outside the city and tried to pick up a book. When the old lady who lived there objected to that he murdered her, too. After that he couldn't enter the city because the guards would immediately shoot at him, so he even had trouble handing himself in when he realised that wherever he would go he would be a wanted criminal. He murdered the horse trader outside of Whiterun in the hope of reanimating the corpse and having a zombie helper. Needless to say the zombie was completely useless and didn't last. It also didn't help his case that he'd stolen the horse.
It took a long time and several deaths (his, for a change) before he managed to get himself locked up in prison for his crimes and before he was able to continue his playthrough in a slightly less crazed killer fashion.

I took the Vagabond. Seemed the most balanced. I've got the horse now and found the people who let you level up / craft etc.. Getting close to the castle now I think.

I was disappointed with the Obi Wan Kenobi episodes. The biggest mistake Disney have made with the franchise is to fail to introduce a great baddie, which continues to be the case here.
