Star Wars chat: I preferred the Last Jedi to the other two films in the sequel trilogy. The Farce Awakens was essentially a pointless remake of ep4, and the last one was just a complete mess.
Star Wars chat continued: I watched the first episode of Kenobi last night. I am undecided. I sort of liked thinking that Obi Wan spent 20-odd years on Tatooine just sitting around doing nothing much. This is going to shatter that illusion.
Also one of the characters was well annoying

Better SW stories exist in the games and some of Zahn's Thrawn graphic novels are excellent - This one is exceptional with some great voice acting.’I appreciate this, but I have to be honest. I meant forget everything else exists, in the Star Wars universe. Everything. Especially the games. |

I sometimes wonder whether I’d feel better about Jar Jar Binks if he was made from latex / vulcanised rubber and animated by Jim Henson, with sub-titles at the bottom of the screen whenever he spoke.

I think the Reva Sevander character is a bit rubbish, but … because of casting. I mean … I don’t know … I think … there is a stereotype, at play, in the world … of the ‘angry black woman.’ I don’t know if it’s good, or healthy, or right … to perpetuate it …

Having said that, Star Wars has form for this. There was that flying alien thing in the prequels who was more hideous a caricature than anything Jeremy Corbyn ever ‘liked’.

The thing is … with the Star Wars games now, it’s quite acceptable to play on the Dark Side. It’s almost as if it’s a lifestyle choice. Maybe some Star Wars fans are going with that. Just becoming evil. Becoming racist.
