Don't tell me you have moved on to Fortnite or haved you dropped into the pit of animal crossing? Once you go there you can never have a large enough turnip pile to get out. Fortnite I realised I was never going to get more than a third place unless I played it all the time. Uninstalled. ACNH I've got about 2 million bells in the bank but not played in ages. Trying to tackle the backlog - especially as it has Robo Dino's 1, God of War, AC Valhalla, Spiderman 1 and a few other time sinks. |

Fortunately the party last night was winding down shortly after 11 pm. I've come to the conclusion that it must have been a bunch of Ireland supporters enjoying the craic. I apologise to all our Scottish viewers for bringing it up. The only consolation is that they are probably feeling significantly more hungover this morning than the rest of us. Whereas I am only sleep deprived.

Just bought three months Gamepass on eBay for £8. Will grab a year later in the err, year. Was it from one of the guys who advertises a 3 month game pass, but sends you 6 x 2 week codes instead? I've had these a few times and gotten clean away with it, but my nephew got a 2 week ban for TOS violations last year (reduced to a week after snitching up the sellers ebay ID) |

I would have killed Shenguin as well, but 'friendly' fire is turned off. Shenguin made it easier by acting as a bullet magnet at one point. It let me come in from the side and wreck players 4 & 5. The last player I hunted down in a very satisfying manner. |

More not E3 activities yesterday with someone co-streaming from the US. Yesterday it was basically indie games. All of them. By the end they had merged into a colourful blur. The only thing that stood out (and I was far from the only one noticing this) was that frogs are the new cats because almost every game had at least one frog in it while others were entirely amphibian themed. A whole army of them.
Did you know that the collective noun for frogs is an "army"?

All those games looked pretty and same-y. I could see myself happily playing any one of them but nothing stood out. The format of these presentations is just fundamentally wrong. There's a reason why the occasional Indie Directs/Showcases are about 10-15 minutes long. Even then viewers struggle to remember half of the games. For me the only excitement (if that's what you want to call it) came from a Moomin game. Not from the game itself but from the fact that my American Twitch host had never heard of the Moomins. I suppose this is because so far the Jansson family have rejected the advances of the Disney corporation which is a good thing. But it also explains a little why the US is such a shitty place and it makes me sad.

I fully understand why you're protective of the characters you loved as a child. But I'd pay a wedge of hard currency to see a high budget Pixar reboot of the Flumps for example, or Jamie and the Magic Torch. But preferably the Flumps (especially if they could use the talents of the lady who did all the original voices, who I think had the splendid, Pride month friendly name of Gaye Soaper) |
