Got. Dead Man's Shoes. Done.
Tremendous. All 4 stars. Thanks for the recommendation/abuse. The 'twist' got me, didn't see it coming.
Also, I was in Matlock recently. Not too far from me. There's a cracking Tram museum in Crich, proper 5* tram action. Would recommend.
Parts of it reminded me of a few old places I'd go for a drink (a long long time ago) in old Miners Welfare pubs/villages.

Off to watch the child's swimming lesson this morning.

Got. Dead Man's Shoes. Done. Tremendous. All 4 stars. Thanks for the recommendation/abuse. The 'twist' got me, didn't see it coming. My best mate from uni is from Darley Dale, so used to knock around the area a fair bit in the summer, still do occasionally. The tuppence ha'penny local gangsters are absolutely spot on in that film, equal parts menacing and pitiful. They're still there too, same haircuts, same tracksuits. Such a well cast & well scripted film

Dead Manβs Shoes
Paddy Considine is so good in it. Comparing him to how he is in interviews he almost seems like a different person - Physically, physiognomically β¦

β¦
There are a few things Iβve noticed in Dead Manβs Shoes. Well β¦ maybe just questions. Theyβre not really a big deal.
*Possible spoiler content*
um β¦
When the gang go to Motsonβs Farm, then drive away in panic - how does Richard get to the house before them? And how does he find the one gang member to kill in the interim?
Actually maybe thatβs it.
Also β¦ The ending - or at least the ending β¦ the event that triggers Richard going back - the bad thing that happened. Iβm not sure itβs 100 percent believable. I know acid can make you feel bad but Iβm not sure youβd be compus mentis enough to be able to do that to yourself.
Minor things to be honest.

We went to the loch with the kelpie yesterday. No kelpie in evidence (God be praised). We did see a red squirrel though. I know that might not seem much but they definitely lack the boldness of the grey ones. This one was hidden up at the top of a tree looking down. Pretty different to the grey squirrel we had in the garden in London, slapping his palm on the window to try and get in.
We also saw a stern looking old fellow who came out into his back garden with his dogs, on account, I think, of us getting too close to his house. He had the bearing of an ex-army Major. The sort who would maybe still be known as βThe Majorβ.
His house was on the banks of the loch. Maybe he was on the alert for kelpie trouble.

Spoiler tags missing from Lazy's post there. Say for example you recorded it as advised last night and hadn't ever seen it.
Why don't you edit your post to tell us there's no Santa as well.
*Whispers* I didn't record it, and by the time I remember to watch it I'll have forgotten what you said. I'm just being a dick.
