So I put my gamepass code in last night and had a browse - was thrilled to see that Mass Effect: Legendary Edition was on there. Had never played ME til late last year when EA put the original 360 games on gamepass - spent a thriling few hundred hours or so playing through me1 and me2, bonding with my Shepherd and my crew, and buying up all the dlc for the full experience.
Spent nearly 2 hours dl'ing and installing it - we're on starvation rations with broadband while they finish installing optical cable to the exchange this weekend.
After all that - can't import an ME save from the original game to Legendary. Fucking hell EA, would that have been so difficult? I've spent 200+ hours with that captain and crew, they really mean something to me.
The only way to play out the game with my original character, crew and decisions is to play the original non-remastered version of the game, and spunk up Β£35 for all of the DLC that's still full price on xbox store (and that's all bundled in gratis with Legendary Edition)
I'm aware that this may just seem like entitled sour grapes, but I was absolutely fuming last night. I'm really not warming to this Electronic Arts company.

The postman's just stuck a copy of 3DS Ocarina of Time through the letterbox (thanks for the recc. tenthenemy), so it looks like I'll be channeling those frustrated trans-galactic combat power fantasy energies, into collecting fairy seeds for a big talking tree for a while. |

Morning. Heck of a racket from the local seagulls this morning. Popped my head out the front door to find a young one face down in the ground. It was still twitching and the others were prodding it, so I left them alone. An hour later it was toast* dead and, therefore, bin bagged and err... binned by Mrs T. A great start to the day.

Not defending EA in any way, but I'd imagine they really weren't expecting folk to have save games they wanted to load up. The PS4 had a good few games that the digital/disc version saves weren't interchangeable which is totally bonkers.
I think I've got that Zelda game on our 2DS.
Played more BFV last night.
Need to get back into spooderman.
Might restart again and beast it.

Damn you for being so impartial and reasonable! A bit of light googling reveals many, many people have had the same problem though, and I really do think it would have been trivial to implement, in the context of remastering an entire massive space opera trilogy. I'm not moving forward with the game without my save though, so looks like it'll have to wait until I can permit myself to give almost the price of a full new game, for some 10 year old DLC, to a publisher I don't like, to play the game in unremastered, two generation old quality. Grr. My purchasing hand goes into a violent, painful spasm just thinking about it, so maybe not yet. |

Morning all!
How is everyoneβs brain-health today?
I had a bit of a brain-wrong yesterday - was getting out of the shower and noticed some multi-coloured pulsing triangles impinging on my vision in the bottom-right hand corner. Further analysis revealed an inability to discern movement within said quadrant. This made shaving difficult, so I cut myself a fair few times more than usual.
It resulted in my lying down in a dark room with my eyes shut as the headache came on, and there I stayed for three hours.
First time Iβve had a migraine in years. I reckon it was down to not hydrating enough yesterday.
Chatting to my twin brother, it appears that he suffers from the same visual symptoms. Interestingβ¦

Listening to Jonathan Dimbleby's brilliant Destiny in the Desert - a recounting of the war in the Western Desert in WWII. Unlike Churchill's history it accord's very much with my fathers stories... Highly recommended 4*

I did not toast a dead seagull this morning, I am not a monster (it's in the slow cooker). Also, with a clear head, I absolutely agree with Melvazord regarding Snipper Elite. It does get better, way better, when you find the upgrades for the blammo stuff. I fully intend another playthrough.

The game itself is still on gamepass (I think), or about Β£2 from CEX. The Β£35 is just for the dlc, Β£30 if you only want the story critical stuff. They never did Game of the Year versions of the ME games, and I've yet to see the DLC go on sale on the xbox store. Just feels like a lot of money to shell for xbox 360 dlc, no matter how much I enjoyed the first two games, which was a lot. In other news - heard a noise by the front door just now, and because the postman had already been I stuck my head out of an upstairs window to see what's what... Saw someone nicking 2 pints of milk off my doorstep and sprinting off down the road! Shouted 'oi' weakly after them, but that's all I managed. Can't be too upset I guess, in these straitened times - if you're desperate enough to need the milk you're welcome to it I suppose. Thought I'd cancelled the bloody milk today as well... (Can't replay the incident in my head though without superimposing an EA logo on the back of his hoody though) |

Interestingβ¦ Itβs important to stay hydrated, a nice IPA rather than any fancy aperol spritz or super fancy lagers. Seems more like a whisky day here than anything sunny, cleared out the muggy air with a quick downpour here down south. |
