Bug update, wife still suffering but me and the little one have come through it seems. Three jabs seem to help a lot, unexplained fever and sleeping all day and night in a baby was scary but a bit less when it was worked out. Only thing I had was brain fog and aches, tried watching new Dr strange but could only manage half hour slots. Cloudy out so guess that means little chance to see red arrows fly past later.

Hullo.
Games: No Snipper Elite last night, Booo. TV: Mrs T went to bed early, so it was a couple of hours watching 'Better Call Saul' whilst stuffing my chops with an iffy pizza. Booze: Yeh, there was booze.
Plans for today? Well, planning to flash a little cash in Aldis, tidy up the courtyard and erm... do other things.

Started watching the last episode of S3 of Stranger Things, but fell asleep about 20 minutes in. I think I may have revised my opinion of S3 after re-watching it. It's a lot more over the top than s2, but it feels a bit more cohesive. Like they actually took the time to plan and write a story, rather than just quickly react to the success of S1.
Obviously I'm not saying amipal was right, or even that I agree with him, but our opinions are aligned.

My Grandparents were Baptists. They sent my dad & his pal to London for the first Billy Graham Crusade in London in 1956. He came back though and later met my mum. Sorry.
The church temperance hall they used to go to became an Italian Restaurant with a nightclub upstairs when I was a teenager, that I spent a lot of time in. So not only Catholics (gasp), but booze sellers.
Hello. The new ps+ tiers start today. I had cheaply bought 9 months of ps now but had to activate it as they were being Dicks. Imagine Sony doing that. Anyway, I have the top tier - ps+superdooper or whatever it's called until the end of Jan23.
Some good stuff in it. Ghost of Tooshie, Miles Morales, Death Stranding, Returnal, some thing called Demons Souls - I doubt any of you have played it.

Baptists are weird. I don't think they can help it, but they are not right in the head. Or in the Church service.
Every time I have to go to a church, mostly funerals these days it i brought home to me that I am very much a Catholic atheist. There are rules to church services and these do not include rambling on indefinitely about how much God loves us and sends troubles to show this. Smoke, a priest dressed as a respectable old lady and a proper organ are good. Everything else not so much.
You need a boozy wake and preferably at least one family row. These are the rules. At least the wake was on licensed premises

The best funerals I've been to have been Catholic ones - warm, celebratory etc.. Even better than the atheist ones in some ways. For the real blood and thunder experience you can;t beat the west coast Scottish Presbos of whatever variety - went to one of those where the first name of the deceased was not even mentioned as the minister was too busy sermonising on how alcohol was the gateway to hell.

I was outside Hell at the weekend. Literally.
Possibly I internalised Hell.
Though not in a Lazybones overthinking everything style.

Specifically Paulaner Munchner Hell.
It was good. If I had to subsist entirely on lagerbier I think I would choose Paulaner Hell.

Funerals: I hate... best one was where we decamped to our local and swapped scurrilous stories about the departed...

I was outside Hell at the weekend. Literally. Possibly I internalised Hell. Though not in a Lazybones overthinking everything style. I've been there; in 1964 with my parents. It was an appropriate start to the worst holiday of my life... ended up in Leningrad after constantly sitting for 12h a day in the back of the dormobile looking at the back of my mother's head, barren rocks, fucking conifers... 4,600 miles in 3 weeks. The road was much worse then...

I like funerals as I have the perfect face for them. It's weddings I can't stand. Happy fuckers prancing about - Urghhh...
Note to self: Next time, write the eulogy yourself Tids*, do not let your sister do it again as she is a thicko.
*I wasn't asked.
