I watched the last episode of Obi Wan Kenobi again last night. Then watched Star Wars (episode IV) again.

I ate a bowl of cold sesame and chilli noodles. Delicious.

I kind of new some of that. As much as it looks like GTAV stunt mode fun, I'm not paying £15 for DLC for a Gamepass game.

Welcome to the colourful fun world of complaining about Nintendo's online services but still paying for it. I don't think there's a single die-hard Nintendo fan in existence who's willing to defend their online. It's worse for us because unlike Microsoft's and Sony's online until relatively recently it was shite but at least it was free. Now it's just shite.

As dakylosaurus419 points out, basic online gives you NES and SNES games. There's no stopping you from finding 7 other nerdspeople and sharing a family membership with them and of course you can find online keys for cheap(er).

The Lord / Lady of the Manor (online + expansion pack) membership is relatively new and still being added to but basically gives you N64 and Sega Mega Drive games plus free DLC for certain games - currently the Happy Home Paradise expansion for AC:NH, the Octo Expansion for Splatoon 2, and, most relevant to you, the Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass.

All of these are beefy expansions to the core games; the MK 8 DLC consists of 48 remastered courses from past Mario Kart games, so in fact doubles the number of tracks. It's still work in progress and will be released in 6 waves by the end of 2023. So far we've only had the first wave with an additional 8 courses. Alternatively you can buy the DLC for £22.49 which means that you won't lose it when your online subscription expires.

It is expected that more games as well as more free DLC offers will be added to the expansion in future. The family pass is no doubt the cheapest option for both regular online and expansion pass because the 8 accounts sharing the cost don't need to be part of the same household.

(And I'm going to keep my mouth shut questioning the wisdom of buying a Switch Lite that you can't use with a larger screen as well as in handheld to play family / party games like Mario Kart and Mario Strikers because you never listen anyway.)

You made me look at the score! Bastard... frankly, even playing T2O we're better than this. The "let's go all out bonkers, rather than the half hearted shit way we were batting before" now that New Zealand have finally turned up has shown itself to be all out bonkers. Boult's excellent bowling needed technique, concentration, determination and luck to survive - Lees, Pope and Crawley arguably lacked all of these. Just where were Pope and Crawley taught that taking a stride forward against the swinging, cutting ball was a good idea. But Lees feet hardly moved at all.

It’s been a very quiet day of work today. I’m still working from home, so used my quiet time to try a new technique (new to me anyway) of applying pigments to a mode to give the effect of dust.

As it was my first try, I may have gone in a bit heavy handed… the damned tank looks like it needs to be dug out of a sand dune.

Hopefully it’s nothing too permanent, and I can mitigate it somewhat.
