So the next step for America is to bring back slavery*. <edit>Obvious hyperbole but this really angers me, even though it's not my country and has no bearing on my gender, maybe because what we see happen over there feeds into what happens here and we've already seen the results with the current government with lie/deflect/blame. Aaargh *segregation would be more likely. I'm not sure I see it happening over here. I think (hope) most folk outside of America view it in the same category as their love of guns and jesus. I.e completely incomprehensible to the rest of the world

That said, what would I do? Vote, tell people to vote and then go to the pub feeling civic* *Whose name is Bruce.

Not sure if you are buying digital creamy baby but if you have that Switch Online you can get a voucher for two Nintendo games for £84, which works out a fair bit cheaper than the usual £50 each, if you were planning on buying two games anyway. The Nintendo games hardly ever go on sale digitally and if they do the discounts are paltry. Its also a great excuse to buy two games.
Although I suppose those savings are chicken feed for a high roller like baby.

I don’t think the abortion thing’s going to come here. Conservative politics here and the US are shit in different ways

I know you're a trolling dick but seriously, what is wrong with you? Bit harsh. It wasn’t entirely serious but ‘voting’ isn’t an answer in itself. The reading thing I stand by. The idea of ‘reading more’ is sometimes vaunted as an unequivocal good, but really it depends on what’s being read. Read more of the Daily Express? Read Ayn Rand?

To be fair as a country we've not got a great track record on not voting for the most idiotic option in recent years. The general public are all idiots

There's a proper law here controlling abortion. It's not really an issue.
In the USA it relied on the Supreme Court's interpretation of the Right to Privacy for Federal protection. There was no specific Federal Law. Now each state controls the law. Plenty of states will retain liberal abortion laws. But about half won't.
What it means is anyone with spare money can just go to California or New York easily What women won't be able to do in some states is access advice close to home or visit a local doctor before deciding. It will overwhelmingly affect younger, poorer, less well educated women who don't travel regularly, rather than the better off.
It just seems appallingly backward.

There's a proper law here controlling abortion. It's not really an issue. True, but it is a law set by the Government and there have been many attempts to change the law, just because they failed doesn't mean they won't in the future. Just wait until Priti try's to bring back the death penalty just after Boris has been filmed fucking a badger.

Another difference here is, as far as I'm aware, there isn't a massive anti-abortion movement

Another difference here is, as far as I'm aware, there isn't a massive anti-abortion movement True, it's mainly a religious thing, which leads me to something I found out recently: "Interestingly from 2020 "Only a quarter of Britons (27%) say they actually believe in ‘a god’. A further one in six (16%) believe in the existence of ‘a higher spiritual power’, but not ‘a god’."

To be fair as a country we've not got a great track record on not voting for the most idiotic option in recent years. The general public are all idiots Hard agree: Tiverton & Honiton parliamentary by-election result: LDEM: 52.9% (+38.1) CON: 38.5% (-21.7) LAB: 3.7% (-15.9) GRN: 2.5% (-1.3) REF: 1.1% (+1.1) UKIP: 0.6% (-1.1) Liberal Democrat GAIN from Conservative. After everything that's gone on in the past couple of years, nearly 4 people in 10 are still voting for the self evidently shambolic tories. Our main political problem seems to be fucking Stockholm syndrome amongst the electorate.
