What did everyone have for lunch?
I splashed the cash and had 4 (FOUR) Youngs frozen fishcakes costing a cool 99p.

Went to the shops for onions. We did need them, though I may have picked up some sweet booze as well *ahem*
The rest of the Chablis (about a glass worth) went in the turkey Ragu I'm currently making.
Lovely day out. Went down to the pitch at the child's school with the tennis racquets. More Glastonbury later. Probably avoid Macca though and go with Roisin Murphy. Watched him the last time he did it.

Afternoon all.
A busy day has been had. A trip to Brighton & Hove early for a spot of shopping - the boy now has some open-shoes for the summer, a football, and also a childrens’ BBC art magazine.
Since we were in Smiths, I was reminded that Amiga Addict was now stocked there. And lo and behold, there was a single issue remaining. First time I’ve bought an Amiga magazine in a shop since the early 2000s! I almost wept.
The afternoon had the boy riding his cousin’s old bike which we were given months ago. A better fit for him than his current Strider balance-bike conversion.

Went from this non-stabilised balance bike to a non-stabilised pedal-bike.

Having an iced coffee out in the garden post dinner. Had to put a hoodie on but it's a nice evening. Sounds like Scottish summer weather, crystal meth dissolved in coffee is a strong move.

I love me a breathy female jazz singer but I never really warmed to NJ. I think it was that song that goes 'There are nine million bicycles in Beijing - that's a fact' that put me off. Its not a fact, at best it's a very rough estimate NORAH. Numerical accuracy over artistic license for me every time Was that Katie melua though? I learned from my father at an early age, that it is deeply shameful and emasculating to admit that you are wrong. My wife has been trying to cure me of that for 20+ years. So, 8 hours, a pub tea, 4 Pints of Dortmunder Pils and a bottle and a half of white wine later, I can confidently say: maybe. Maybe it was Katie Melua. I'm certainly not clicking on any of the links people posted, and I'm definitely not listening to the clamour of people telling me I'm wrong. So - maybe it was. Shall we call this one a draw? Splendid

WiFi has been flaky today and has only just come back on after Beardy's minions fixed the Internet. Lunch was fried egg and toast, dinner was chicken stir fry with noodles, thus answering the age old question. I made a bit of a mess when I was trying to turn over the egg for what the Yanks call "over easy" which is a misnomer because there's nothing easy about turning over an egg. In fact my attempts were easily over when the egg slid off the spatula and landed on the stove top. Against better judgement I tried chasing it back into the frying pan and only admitted defeat when the yolk broke. I cleaned up the mess and fried another egg, this time with more success. Last night I played more Xenoblade Chronicles until far too late. It's the kind of game where you think you could just put in half an hour and then you realise that unless you go to bed now the sun is going to come up soon. Before I finally packed it in I completed a mission by taking out one of the huge enemies the game has on offer. As I dusted myself off after the fight I suddenly noticed another huge outline behind me that looked very much like the one I had just defeated. Confused I moved closer to target it and it immediately attacked. Turns out it was another much stronger unique enemy that spawns as soon as the previous one is defeated. Tried to run but got wiped out almost instantly. Oops. Before that mishap I had been intrigued to receive a bagful of "Quality Crank": I suppose that's the name given to a particularly nice kind of Pick up bar.
