I saw Leonard Cohen when he was approaching 75. He was still doing everything you'd expect. He might have altered a few arrangements to suit his ageing voice better, which you'd expect. He was able to do a 3 hour show without vocal support. I suppose it was probably less lively than McCartney. It was clear McCartney couldn't quite carry a full concert without very careful planning last night.
I don't think I would go to a concert of his.

Has anyone used "Hello Fresh"?
Thinking about giving them a try, main reasons are; trying new stuff, portion control and not having to buy whole jars of stuff just for one recipe.

I haven't, but a mate of mine has for a while and swears by it. Basically because it means he doesn't have to think about planning meals. I think he first started because he wanted to give veganism a try, and quickly realised that for it to work you really need some boffins to plan out your meals, just to make sure you don't die from such a shit diet

Has anyone used "Hello Fresh"? Thinking about giving them a try, main reasons are; trying new stuff, portion control and not having to buy whole jars of stuff just for one recipe. We've used hello fresh and gousto. We did the cheap introductory week and half price follow up fortnight for both. They were broadly similar in variety and quality, and pros and cons were same for both: Pros: good quality and variety of meals, new recipes added every week. Never really had a bad meal with either, and some really excellent ones. Both always delivered when they said they would, neither ever missed out any ingredients. The one time hello fresh couldn't fulfil a recipe we'd ordered, they substituted a similar replacement of their choice and refunded the price as a credit towards next order. Cons: both providers seem to think one chicken breast is sufficient for two people as a main course. Maybe so if sliced in a stir fry, but both providers had recipes which required butterflying and halving a single chicken breast to grill or fry for 2. Not enough for me as a main course, and I'm not (that) greedy. They could be similarly parsimonious with other proteins too. A few times meat would arrive with only 3 days of use by date, meaning you had to freeze it (negating the 'fresh' somewhat) if you wanted to have that meal for a weekend supper. Oh, and the guide times for prep and cooking we're hilariously inaccurate - a meal advertised at '25 mins to prep and cook' rarely went from fridge to plate in under double that. Lastly one of the services required a phone call to cancel, not a fan of services you can set up online, but have to physically speak to a pushy meat puppet to cancel All in all I enjoyed using both services and got some good recipes that I still use. What stopped us using both is that they weren't super great value for money when they went up to full price, and that with both you had to order a minimum of 5 meals each time. Wife works odd hours, turned out finding 5 evenings a week where we'd both be eating at the same time was not that common, we'd often end up only eating 3 or 4 together If you're curious it's definitely worth a go. You really can't lose with the cheap introductory offers, and you might love it.

I've also thought about giving them a chance in the past but was recently discouraged by an online friend of mine (admittedly in the US, no doubt it could be totally different over here) who tweeted followed by a picture of a plate of mushroom pasta with the comment

Some stuff, like lentils and chickpeas, came precooked in tetrapaks, but they were always OK. All that being said - I never ordered mushroom anything, and if you do, you deserve what you get cos mushrooms are fucking bowkin

That's definitely a new thing, and a good thing too. After we cancelled I carried on getting multiple emails a week from them so I marked them as spam - if they're still sending me discount offers I'd definitely try a 3 meal box, I'm going to check now. Let us know if you order and how you get on

Lunchblog. As the sun is shining I bought a disposable Barby. I also bought the following from morrisons: 4 lamb n mint burgers, 4 pork koftas and 4 corn on the cobs (which I wrapped in foil after spreading butter on). Luckily there are 4 of us so it all worked out. Boodiful. *kisses bunched fingers*
Bit hot now so might go for a lie down.

Not everyone wants a psilocybin high after every meal. I can't really take wild mushrooms on pizza etc as that's what it reminds me of and gives me the dry boak. Nicely farm grown white & brown please!

Sounds like more meat and a better selection than was available the last time I tried Morrisons. The local Asda was rubbish for things too. It's something this year that empty shelves are common and it's not panic buying on the news. Are there rules against moonshine, homebrew and DIY butchering?
