It was an ok evening. I was gifted the Champagne. I’m not a Champagne hound.

Morning. Have been on a diet for a week, been pretty easy going til now but woke up this morning absolutely ravenous. Two small pieces of wholemeal toast with grilled tomatoes doing nothing to quieten the rumbling.
Does anyone have any input on the worth of PS VR? I know it's getting a bit long in the tooth now, but a mate is willing to sell me his barely used boxed headset for a price that feels tricky to turn down. I'd love a go of VR but unsure if I'm better saving my shekels for an Oculus
AC's Odyssey and Unity arrived via the post dude this morning, waiting for Unity to install whilst I mooch vainly through the cupboards for filling low calorie treats and a bag of willpower

The Oculus is a lot better than the psvr. There is supposed to be a new headset from meta - and the 256GB quest 2 has been on sale in the US with big money off, though not here unfortunately.
With the Quest 2 you can play stuff on the headset itself or you can play wired/wireless to a gaming pc.
I've had one on loan from work for a while. It still gives me the boak and so I've not used it as much as I should have. Using it more means less boaky feeling as you get accustomed- so I should just get into it before it has to go back.
But if the psvr is a real bargain it might be a good entry to see if you like it.

It’s good - novel. But the novelty wears off. Good for one afternoon of entertainment with friends. Also good for the Star Wars Battlefront VR demo which is maybe the best video game I have ever played. I know that sounds hyperbolic but you play as an X-Wing fighter pilot up against Tie Fighters and a Star Destroyer. It’s only 20 minutes but it is … very good. On balance though: If PSVR had better resolution and no wires it would be excellent. |

lazybones He only wants £50 for it to save the hassle of putting it on ebay, and it's pretty much unused. No move controllers though, which I'd want, because I'd really love to play beat sabre - pushing the total price to over £100 before I've bought any games. (I'd also need to fix my PS4 - the power supply is toast, I have a replacement in hand but its not a job I planned to do anytime soon.) I love a bargain but think I might be better walking away from this one, cheers
