As much as "Boot the Buffoon" day is funny, a lot of the twaddle from the fellow snakes and pigs is laughable. Career politicians with their snouts in every trough (ppe anyone? expenses?) are resigning out of supposed integrity. Fuck off. They are all the same, whatever colour tie they wear, all very rich and self promoting psychopaths. The Tory resignees either think it might cost them money through loss of seats, individual money, loss of status/perks or they want the top job themselves. The Boris supporting MSM have his card marked and they want a new PM. They were still supporting him until a few days ago. What changed? The feely feeler pincher ? He's (the PM) got away with much worse and still been supported. It's all timed. They want a new PM and will get one. Whether today or in a few weeks/months. Yes, he is an utter lying shit. But none of them are any better in the blue Party. As I think Felice's picture was suggesting. I'd also suggest Labour want him gone as they think it will increase their chance at a GE, rather than out of any sense of 'good'. But I'm a cynical old git who hates all of them. Anyway, must dash I've got double chemistry with old Bronson in the upper school building. I'm going to cherry pick a few comments. "They are all the same, whatever colour tie they wear, all very rich and self promoting psychopaths." Not all politicians, of whatever party, are like this. "But none of them are any better in the blue Party" Again, I may not like them but I think some of them are decent people. "I'd also suggest Labour want him gone as they think it will increase their chance at a GE, rather than out of any sense of 'good'" If you are in opposition surely you would want to increase your chance of winning the next GE so this really makes no sense, are you saying that if there was a "good" Tory in power they should just let them carry on?

There was a great line from Kir Smarmer "“Isn’t it the first recorded case of the sinking ship fleeing the rat?" But I agree, BoJo is easily the most venal and amoral example of them all. And Felice Landry , your voice in favour of balance is a welcome one, but now is the time to get the fat, lying bastard into the corner and give him an introductory pass to Tiddles' House of Pain. We've suffered and are suffering the impacts of his lies for long enough. He's done more good for the Ukraine than us.

Felice, fair enough responses, that was just my hustings speech for the 'None of the above' campaign.
Although...
Tuffers quipped "Labour are in opposition?"
How we all all laughed.

Chumbles I agree, just a tad annoyed that some people* think that life will get better. The Roe V Wade thing made really angry and all the stuff happening now doesn't help. Time I stuck my head back in the sand. *no one here, obvs.

Everything makes me angry. At least overturning Roe vs Wade has no application here.
The U..S. government will not fund any family planning advice abroad that offers abortion as a choice for any pregnancy, no matter the circumstances. That means any charity or UN program taking money from the USA can't even offer advice, let alone provide abortions. Even for medical emergencies.
I also agree that the Democrats and the Labour Party have acted as enablers for Trump a nd Johnson. Biden is a terrible president. Despite having control of both houses of Congress the Democrats are achieving fuck all. Labour can't oppose any Tory policy or any company's mistreatment of its workers.
When it comes to crises they haven't a clue. Look at Ukraine. We have managed to put in place san tions that have massively increased the value of Russia's exports and caused inflation and poverty across the rest of Europe. Effectively we are paying for both sides to fight. It is a shitshow and the policies adopted by Western countries are adding to it. I do not know the best solution, but I can say our governments have pretty much adopted the worst. Condemning Ukraine to a slow defeat with massive numbers of dead and the country's infrastructure wrecked.
The UK is being run in to the ground by the Tories. NHS, trade, diplomacy, climate change police, roads, local government, trains. You name it they are hollowing it out and causing long term damage
Would Labour be better? I think so. But it would be putting a sticking plaster on an open fracture. I just don't believe Starmer would do anything serious. He wouldn't fuck shit up for the hell of it like Johnson which would be an improvement. But actual positive change? Dream on.
Just maybe a post Starmer government might make some decent moves. But that's years away.

I blame Al Gore. He won the 2000 election and won Florida. All he had to do was hold out for a monitored recount.
Instead he let Bush in and since then the well has been poisoned.

Tbf the Democrats don't really control both houses because Manchin and Sinema are Republican in all but name, plus the ridiculous rule requiring 60-40 approval for anything beyond administrative change.

It'll 60-40 to prevent filibusters. A one vote majority (the speaker) is enough to pass laws through the Senate. They haven't even tried to get changes through. The poverty of ambition is shocking.
The Republicans are disciplined, but that's only because they think they can win. It would be possible to split off Republican senators on individual issues. It has happened in the past.

It doesn't help that the Bidens are massively corrupt. It still amazes me that Trump managed to get impeached while digging dirt on Hunter Biden.
Let us recall: Hunter was an alcoholic drug addict who didn't speak Ukrainian or Russian, had no business experience and barely scraped through his law exams. Yet somehow he got appointed to the board of the main Ukraine electricity company, while his dad was vice-president. And Joe saw nothing wrong with this.
In terms of corruption there are more red flags than Tiananmen Square on May Day.
Yet Trump was so incompetent he couldn't get the obvious to stick. Instead of just sticking with the known facts, which are pretty damning Trump tried threatening Ukraine in the most corrupt way he could find and got impeached.

They had an ambitious post covid recovery bill that was watered down to almost nothing by Manchin. The filibuster rule is kept in place by the Republicans to hamper Dem bills, but watch them abolish it 10 seconds after they win the midterms so they can ban abortion nationwide and god knows what else. Stilk, Biden's preference for bipartisan politics might be a problem right enough. Like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

I'm actively looking for any minor public roles I can take on just so I can flaunt publicly that I disagree with Johnson and therefore have no choice but to resign.
If anything positive comes out of this saga it is that it is now clear that the UK government have far too many Mickey Mouse roles.

Massive plate of fish, chips*, and mushy peas sent me to sleep. Actually, a South African Chenin Blanc did, most likely. While I was asleep our Prime Minister sacked Michael Gove stabilised the government.
At least I can't vote so none of this is my fault.
*chips replaced by potato rösti because that's what I happened to have in the freezer
