Hope the rest of the heat week isn’t too bad mr chumbles. Best warm weather drinks? Cheers. Don't be surprised if I disappear for periods - 11 a.m. and it's already 80f in here- it will reach 93f at least by mid afternoon... and the wall by my head will be much higher ... H20, Alcohol free beer, Arctic Coffee Latte and the occasional Tassimo left to cool down. Cricket: With unerring accuracy we have made Captain our best T20 batsman thus ensuring we destroy his form and remove any controlling mind... It would be better to have kept Morgan even if he scored nothing because he controls the game. And T20 is a tactical game that requires a general. |

Stop messing about and start taking Allopurinol. Prolonged use of Steroids and / or Ibuprofen create there own problems and you're not far off the point when you will get an attack so bad that you won't be able to bear anything on it... I was going to say this, suffered from gout for quite a while and it's not fun, went on Allopurinol and haven't had an attack for years. Thanks for the advice Felice Landry & Chumbles. We discussed going on Allopurinol last time I had a dose of gout, but a daft aversion to adding to my already substantial daily pharmacopoeia had me promising to stick to a low purine diet and see how it goes. The oozing cheeses and lark's tongues do tend to creep back into the diet though, you know how it is. My throbbing foot is now telling me to stop being such a prick and just take the Gary Abletts I do hate having to take the steroids because I'm aware of their long term nastiness, so I'll ring Rheumatology on Monday and get myself prescribed. Meanwhile I'll attempt the cure proffered by Shenguin and report back |

I took Dr Shenguins advice and last night ate a hot curry.
Heatwave watch: Even hotter today. Forecast 27°. Over 30 predicted for tomorrow. Going to bbq burgers, sausages and corn on the cob shortly. Luckily it's in the shade.
Cold drink (not booze): The aforementioned Bavaria Shandy, ice cold. Also mango Rubicon hits the spot on a hot day.
No games.

If that ghoul is woke by their standards then fucking hell what chance have any of us got? Her voting record is the standard Tory mixture of anti-poor people and pro-badger killing.

News: my mum and dad have just been in a very minor road accident on the way back from Lidl. They're fine but the car's nailed - they were side swiped by a 'Tulips from Holland' HGV which tried to change lanes by going through my dad's fiesta. The offside of the car is absolutely bollocksed, damage to every panel and the bonnet, probably a write off. The real reason for me telling this story is that I said to my dad - quick as a flash mind - 'You should have passed the dutchie on the left hand side' - and he didn't get it. Pearls before swine. They did give me a six pack of Cawston's rhubarb press which they've been banging on about for months - just had one over ice and they're right, it's delicious. Definitely a new entrant to the summer drinks chart. Tastes like it would be nice with gin

There’s something not right about the situation with the ball-boys and ball-girls. There’s a scandal there to be unearthed. No doubt in my mind.
Are they being paid? If so did they apply for the job, and was it advertised externally? Why are there no balding 40 year old fat men?
Why do these kids look so scared and on edge? What kind of tyranny is going on behind the scenes?
