Got an email keeping up the pretence that I haven't been scammed and my Retro game thingy has been shipped from Portugal. Clever girl.
OTTM, sunburned and drunk. Probably shouldn't have cut the hedge whilst it was scorchio. Mad dogs and Englishmen... 4*

And the crowd are now doing the "here we fucking go" chant and I'm reminded why I can't go to festivals in Scotland any more. I get a bit stabby when that starts.
But now, the Strokes.

Good Morning Everyone!
Just home from work. Large glass of some 2019 Sicilian. It's actually quite nice.
Waiting for Fortnite to update. Ho-hum.
Back at work in 7ish hours.
Would you like fries with that?

I have not yet seen the SPODER, however, from eyewitness sightings, it sounds like the one that was living in the disused courtyard pipe. In which case, it's a big sod with huge muscles, and fast too. To be terminated with extreme prejudice (or a slipper).

Ow ow ow. Also OW.
Woke up with pretty much agonising gout in my right foot. It's bright red and pouring with sweat, can't put any weight on it. Using a sodding broom as a crutch. I get it a couple of times a year secondary to the arthritis, but it's hard not to imagine yesterday's gallon of lager and a kebab have something to do with it. Got some rescue steroids so I've had a gutful of those, they'd better kick in soon because the house is a dump and PM and the spawn are back at 3

I feel a little better but sleep is hard as the pain builds in my back and sides when I lay down. I don't know if it's a COVID thing or back thing. I will have to pick up some Naproxen when the COVID clears.

Hope the rest of the heat week isnβt too bad mr chumbles. Best warm weather drinks? Alcoholic or non alcoholic? Because its impossible to beat a crisp lager from a frosty glass. That first swallow on a dry throat is nirvana. Non alcoholic, I'm going for a can of ice cold Lilt. Getting harder to find that drink nowadays, in cans anyway. Always room in my heart for a cold shandy too

I have also had a bad start to the day. The senile cat escaped and I was dispatched to acquire it before it done itself a mischief on the main road. Cue Tids Senior to the rescue. I tried to clamber over a metal fence but did not quite make it. End result? Went arse over tit but luckily my forehead took the impact as I landed bonce first on the ground. Bit of bruising and numbness in the frontal lobes, but I'm OK. I'd rather have that than the muffrat condition, sounds nasty. Cat has been bollocked.

Salty Kiss (it's a gooseberry gose) Gose is an abomination. Like someone took a perfectly good beer and poured sea water in it. During the Euros last summer I bought some from my local craftwank place, as the artwork on the cans was of various scenes from Euro 96. I forced myself to finish the first tin, then gave the rest away. It took a while to offload them. Probably due to my sales pitch of "have these beers, they're fucking rank"

Morning all!
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the pub we ate at last night was actually quite good. Unfortunately I was driving, which meant no real drinking. I did have a nice slab of ribeye steak though. Boodiful.
TVblog: Seinfeld.
Thismorningblog: swimming lesson with the boy. Heβd slept over his nanβs, so I expected a tired boy and a terrible lesson. I was correct on the first part, and totally wrong on the second. Another fantastic lesson.

I was going to say this, suffered from gout for quite a while and it's not fun, went on Allopurinol and haven't had an attack for years.

Looking at the statistics, the Chatterbox seems to have anomalously high cases of gout.
I recommend port for coping with the heat, and not moving onto brandy before mid-afternoon. On very hot days in the bright sunshine, it may even be necessary to have a port and brandy mix until the early evening when the day has started to lose some of its heat. I realise that may sound over the top, but the hot weather really can be dangerous. Food-wise, stick with French, Italian and Spanish cheeses, and a late evening meal of hot curry.
Stay safe. xx

Gout? Are you all Pitt the younger?
Gose chat. The slight salty tinge is good on a hot day.
