I'm fooked. Nurse here at 11 went at 1.30; had to do washing which threw more heat in here so ate at 3 and now the temperature is climbing. How I wish I could get shutters fitted. Dunelm do blackout/thermal curtain liners that attach to your existing curtains using the same curtain hooks. They should reflect the heat back out ? I've used them for years. |

Hi I was supposed to be going to see Simon from Norwich today - in Norwich. We were going to go to a Belgian restaurant - quaff Belgian beers, eat mussels and chips. Well that was the idea. Sadly I tested positive for COVID-19 again so I spent all morning in bed instead. Wondering if I should play Fortnite. I can’t even go down to the shop to buy Belgian beers. Maybe I don’t need to. I’m not an alcoholic… We’re you meeting at The Belgian Monk? Some of the ales there almost meet the ABV content to kill covid, so you’d probably have been alright. |

Thanks for the thought, but my curtains are heavily lined and the drawing mechanism already is over strained. But a percentage of the light doesn't reflect out but heats the air between the double-glazing and the curtains creating a reservoir of very hot air. The good news is that I have an inexpensive solution taping cardboard over the window that a friend is driving over to implement tomorrow morning. We'll see if that works. I am cool enough to sleep... 😴 I hope! |
