I don’t usually read crime books.
Crime doesn’t pay.
I think there’s a space for light non-fiction. The space is July.

I can report that the plywood board over my bedroom works brilliantly. Without it the temperature would be 34c, about 5c above the external temperature. Tonight it's 28c in here, 1c below the outside...
Tomorrow and Tuesday will be bloody unpleasant, but I confess that I was genuinely scared at the prospect. Before all these goddamned dressings I lost heat by running a cold water bath and laid in it; a recourse no longer available to me.

After yesterday's hangover I had intended to not drink any booze for two weeks.
I made it one day

Rather surprisingly, I can confirm that Scubar is indeed correct. I know right! Kefalonia is supoib. My favourite Greek isle. Shame it's been over a decade since we last went (Skala).

lazybones, I take it the Ungi's are mentioned? It all went to pot (ha!) After David was shot - about 94/95. Body armour became so stylish. They are! The last section. It seems David Ungi got shot shortly before I moved there. My main gangsterism reference is Mr Panama / ‘Panama Jones’? I’m fairly sure he gets an anonymous reference in the book, though maybe he wasn’t as big a character / presence as I thought he was? ….

They've got some emergency beacon thing with them and they're being met at various points with more water and the actual walking is happening early morning/ early evening. I still don't think it should be happening. On cross country afternoons we used to set off on the 5 mile circuit, accidentally 'getting lost' and lurking in a caff until the last 30 runners were due, then slip in with the slowboys to finish. On the District Race Trials day that went horribly wrong when, unbeknownst to us, they changed the course. Even at the finish I didn't realise I was coming fifth - I had to run for the school over the 10 mile District course on a hot day. I didn't finish last, but I was violently ill and even my blisters had blisters! This should be a Dennis the Menace strip in The Beano.

I was there from 92. When David Sr got shot it was total mayhem. Even small/medium sized dealers got extremely paranoid and started wearing body armour and carrying. It was only really coke/smack that had that sort of thing before then. The amount of money in pills/weed had got so big it was inevitable.
In other news - my work VPN is failing and I can't get in to do some work I need to do before tomorrow. Fucking balls man. I may need to go in tomorrow. What a shit show. The sooner we move to office 365 the better.

Greece is the word. Never been. Far too hot. Well, you are Scottish. I do worry about you this week, Crank. I can imagine you melting at anything above 15 degrees.

Anyone want to buy a used VCR? Is scubar old enough to know what a VCR is let alone have actually owned one? Also you've done well to avoid the red hot areas. Though it's likely to feel pretty brutal even in Cornwall. The beaches are ideal spots for heat stroke. Blazing sun, but a nice breeze to keep you feeling deceptively cool. A pallid Scot is likely to he lobster coloured before noon. Where are you staying?

Still on the tarmac. They’ve had to turn the plane off and on again. Which isn’t worrying at all.
In case you were wondering if it was nice to know you, I tell you now that it wasn’t.

"sorry ladies & gentleman, we can't take off as some lobster pink eejit is sitting on the tarmac in front of the plane eating a kebab. The police have been called"

Evening all.
Filmblog: I’ve watched The Sea Beast two times now. The boy loves it, and I can see why. Most entertaining. Karl Urban voices a character with a British accent, and thankfully he doesn’t go full-Billy-Butcher. Though does say “oh bloody hell” and “you bollocksed it up”. 4*
Also watched Dune (most recent one) last night. Good that. 4+1*

Poor Scubar, taken from us at such a young age. Now he's fish food at the bottom of the Adriatic. Glug Glug Glug...
He had a good innings.

Great weather, hot enough to swim but not as brutal as it is about to get.
