I just saw someone drop a receipt by mistake. I didn’t tell them. I meant to catch their eye. Then a man came and stood on the receipt meaning the moment was lost. What if it’s crucial - pertaining to a final gift for a dying loved one? Ah man. The email curse wreaks trauma anew. Are you suggesting that they might have needed the receipt to give the gift to the dying relative, then return it to the shop after their death? If so, definitely worth sticking that in an email to Martin Lewis. Top tip: if buying a gift for a dying relative use Amazon and keep the packaging. Ask them not to bleed or leak on it and so long as they pop their clogs within 30 days you can get your £ back. No receipt needed.

Ideally do not mention this when handing over the gift.

It wouldn't work with me; not only do I mark everything with an infrared marker*, I'm going to leave the machine gun turret on auto... *"This was Chumbles shit, you cunt."

I'm not really sure what I was thinking. Perhaps £7,000 for a gift that turned out to be damaged, and needed to be replaced with only hours to go before the last moments.

Eugh. I've got to spend the afternoon 'crafting a narrative' I'm starting to think I need a new job Just tell them 'The juice isn't worth the squeeze'. Then log off for the weekend. Your welcome. I suspect if I tried that I'd just be told I need to be cognizant of the emergent developmental activity pertaining to the overarching governance architecture

Lunch
Sandwich of disappointment*, no coffee
*actually soup, and it wasn't disappointing, but that spoils the narrative.

I found out that Dishoom - the Indian themed restaurant franchise - now deliver/s. Or they use the services of Deliveroo. Pretty good.

What is the standard length for a crisis?
I've got to be honest. I think if you're going beyond a month then the term crisis is no longer really appropriate.
The Suez Crisis - a week? The Cuban Missile Crisis - a month?
My understanding of climatic change is that it takes place over a vast number of years. And any amelioration of climate change would similarly take place over a vast number of years. So will people be talking about the Climate Crisis until well after everyone here expires?
I'm sorry - I don't want to get morbid ...
I think the word crisis is being devalued. What about the Climate Pickle? The Climate Jam? The Climate Conundrum?

What is the standard length for a crisis? I've got to be honest. I think if you're going beyond a month then the term crisis is no longer really accurate. Its why you can only be sectioned for 28 days* under the Mental Health Act. Any longer and you are better. It wasn't really a crisis. More a long term series of events. *Yes I know it can be for longer.

How is the new switch sports? Was thinking of getting it for my two to keep them occupied (for at least a whole hour) in the holidays. It's good fun. They're adding golf in the autumn (for free). Most things you can play head to head, or doubles against AI or online. The Tennis/Volleyball gives you a computer team member if you're online. The football is good fun - but it needs two joycon controllers, so you need extra ones for PvP or 2 player online. You can buy a strap to put a joycon on your leg for kicking. eBay do them as well. It's rocket league with wee characters instead of cars. The child was kicking arse on the bowling. It's kind of battle royale against another 15 players.

Curry being ordered for dinner and a chicken tikka kebab. I'm quite tired. No games last night. Need to get back on Ghost tonight. Finished Reacher. It's ok, decent enough.
