Morning
Urrrggghhhh.
Didn't burn the house down, but did wake up on the settee at 6am. So went back to bed til 11am.
Just had the breakfast/brunch of champions:
2 * black pudding slices
2 * bacon rashers
Soft fried egg
Two tinned plum tomatoes
Two toast
Now watching cricket.
Meeting a friend off the train at 4pm for beers then an Indian Restaurant. We've agreed we will sit down for food no later than 8pm. We shall see.

No way can I do 2 sessions in a row anymore. the trick is to leave minimal separation between the two sessions, thereby effectively turning it into one long piss up, punctuated by a bit of sleep somewhere in the middle. Hair of the dog when you wake up and you're good to go |

Me - sits down - "err....yes?"
Garage - "It is as you correctly surmised. The EGR cooler has failed, and needs replacing"
Me - "err...OK. Tell me the details"
Garage - "It is a part that almost never fails"
Me - thinks - "uh-oh"
Garage - "We have checked the National parts database, and due to there being almost no demand for this item, plus the recent supply issues there are no spares of this part currently in UK. We can get one shipped in, but it will take 10 days, and a days work to fit. How does £650 pounds sound?"
Me - grits teeth and stifles a sob- "Dooo Eeeet"

What's your order Tuffers? Indian is a few hours away yet. I'll probably do my usual. Study the menu in great detail whilst quaffing a (shared) bottle of red wine, usually south American, then order a starter, main and bread (no rice, yuk, no poppadoms either) from a small list of stuck-in-a-rut usuals that I know I love, cos I'm boring. Starter - either Tandoori fish, King Prawn Tikka or Tandoori Lamb chops (depending on hunger levels) Main, either Chilli Chicken tikka balti, chicken Tikka vindaloo (or madras) or chicken Tikka Naga. Bread, either garlic, keema or garlic-keema *drools* |
