Tough situation crank. Are you saying they are shutting down the main library in Glasgow? End times.

Nah, I don't work in Glasgow. They are closing a few in Glasgow though.

Ottm. Set up an Xbox Series X in work yesterday. Nice bit of kit. A lot quieter than the PS5. Only played Rocket League & Fall Guys but the fan on (my certainly, hmm) the PS5 would have kicked in.

I had dealings with a Laycock today, over some data privacy stuff. Amipal's twin? Could have been Ronarid. Did he have an implausibly strong chin? Based in London, slight Birmingham twang. Maybe, Ian Laycock?

Google's Ian Laycock.

When I worked in local government I was at risk of redundancy 4 times in 10 years. The fourth time I took voluntary as I was fed up with the whole thing.
One thing to consider Crank - if you're likely to be in a position where several of your colleagues are all looking for similar jobs elsewhere at the same time then it might be worth trying to get in there first. I had an interview where I kept getting asked weirdly specific questions about my current job and employment situation. Halfway through the interview I twigged that they'd already spoken to a couple of of my colleagues

Nah, I don't work in Glasgow. Ffs my spreadsheet is all over the shop. I thought Crank sometimes had to travel in to or via Glasgow for work. But the libraries were mostly to the west. Maybe the shit bomb letters I have been sending have gone to the wrong libraries?

Ah, Ronarid- my nemesis. Or at least I was his. I sometimes think it was only his intense hatred of me that kept him going. With the closure of the GGBCB, I really did worry about his health declining.

I thought Crank got the train from Glasgow station, and was frequently running to get coffee in time before his train. It actually inspired the current Dakly modus operandi for train travel - get there ridiculously early so you have time to buy two breakfasts and pick up a coffee from starbonks. Then a leisurely stroll to the train before sitting near - but not in - first class on a mostly empty train, to open up the laptop and post bollocks on here whilst waiting for it to depart.
Classic crank

Watching someone play last of us part 1, has inspired me to download part 2 again for some reason. At current download speeds I may be playing it within the decade. Moribund, and that's just the download process.

Morning. ... Workchat. Not looking the best. Cooncil to have £15m-20m black hole in 2023-2026. Proposal to close central library which is 8.2 FTE posts gone, plus the previous mentioned backroom 2.5 FTE posts. Would save about £350k on top of the 2.5 jobs - which a drop in the ocean tbh. The library in question is bang on the edge of the No1 spot in the SIMD area; but even that I don't think will save it. Terrible scenes. Can't wait for all the fiscal experts in the local papers website/Facebook telling us we all earn a fortune and time to join the real world. Happened to see an ideal job in a school 15 mins from my house. But it's temporary for a year - and I'd be leaving without any redundancy so fuck that. We'll see, not the best. If I am going I'll have till April probably. Heroin smoothie anyone? I'm sure we can find a replacement position for you. Although some genetic resequencing may be needed And doubtless Felice Landry will point you to Sunnydale... But I think that the Unseen University would appreciate your services. Pay's rubbish, but you will have all the bananas you can eat and if you get high, after the last incumbent no-one will notice! Seriously, that is a typical politicians first resort, but it should be the last - democracy's lifeblood is access to information. But stifling enquiring minds seems de rigueur for them. For kids from poorer backgrounds, it's a place they can go to study in a knowledge friendly environment.

Morning
Shit news Crankster. The PM has been through this 3 times in last 8 years. Managed to survive each time. Similarly, she's hanging around as she's got 22 years service for redundancy. I think if they did it again and wanted volunteers (they haven't before) she'd go for it. Anyway, good luck.
OTTM, last day of 6 weeks holiday for the younglings, school Monday, they look so fed up, hey ho that's life. Said we could have takeaway tonight if they stop moping around.

If my train to work has 1st class it means I've got on the wrong train and am possibly Manchester, London or Cornwall bound.
The SPT Zonecard does not cover these journeys - but tbf I'd probably attempt showing my pass and brass-necking it.
Lunch was 'Mexican inspired falafel and rice salad'. Classic fusion cuisine there from Tesco. Back to the hoovering.

I thought crankcaller was a Faceless sock puppet account. Crank, I'm sorry that Faceless is writing you such a bummer of a script at the moment, and can't even remember where he decided you live. Felice Landry, are you asking for a list? OTTM: ffs Wordle, is that even a real word? Had to check a dictionary, never heard of it.
