Morning you ‘orrible lot!
Last day of the summer holidays for the boy. His behaviour has gone somewhat downhill over the last week. One gets the impression he’s worried about going back to school - year two, new class, new teacher.
TVblog: The Sandman, episode two. Nice use of Scotney castle. And watched Seinfeld too.
Warhermitblog: finished the Necromunda Orlock models. Only took 25 years for them to be painted properly! Painted too many at a time with these. Batches of five are the sweet spot with miniatures, more than that becomes a bit of a grind.

Morning.
Games. More Spiderman:MM. Tv. More Trying.
Workchat. Not looking the best. Cooncil to have £15m-20m black hole in 2023-2026. Proposal to close central library which is 8.2 FTE posts gone, plus the previous mentioned backroom 2.5 FTE posts. Would save about £350k on top of the 2.5 jobs - which a drop in the ocean tbh. The library in question is bang on the edge of the No1 spot in the SIMD area; but even that I don't think will save it. Terrible scenes.
Can't wait for all the fiscal experts in the local papers website/Facebook telling us we all earn a fortune and time to join the real world. Happened to see an ideal job in a school 15 mins from my house. But it's temporary for a year - and I'd be leaving without any redundancy so fuck that.
We'll see, not the best. If I am going I'll have till April probably. Heroin smoothie anyone?

You can get a decent 65" TV for much less than £2K. It won't be this year's OLED/QLED model, but if you don't absolutely need all the top tech you can get one for less than £1K. For a 55" or smaller they start at about £600 for a decent brand.
I know that probably isn't your main concern at the moment...
The library situation sounds pretty bad. It is harder to dodge if they are making a load of staff redundant. I'd suggest that even if you find another job you should try to get the redundancy money if it is on offer. Don't turn down (tax) free money.
Edit: I had to Google SIMD. Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. Sounds lovely.

Good luck with all that Crank, my own view is it better to find similar work elsewhere for the same money, then to risk redundancy pay and take the redundancy pay further down the line and seek employment from that position, which will see your position weakened and therefore you are likely to get a lower salary.

Aye, as we don't know what's happening for sure yet I'd be daft to jump away from 20yrs redundancy. The PM is a careers advisor and has written one or two cv's in her time which will help.
Anyway, how about those knicks?
