A pal from Uni days had been in the pub all afternoon in Leeds. He came out the pub and there was a guy in a Mr Blobby outfit handing out flyers for something or other. For a laugh he punched the head of Mr Blobby, but to his horror the foam indented and he made contact with the head of the wearer who fell over and couldn't get back up. He had to leg it down the street half cut. I heard a story at university about a Mr Blobby who turned up at a party / event. Some students tried to bundle him, in the spirit of ‘high jinks’, but in the process his costume head came off to reveal a baldy-headed tough guy underneath, who beat them all up. |

Just taking a break as I can't stand any longer on my old plates. If you want a picture of this heffalump's hoof, PM me. More wretched chorzing yet to do (dressings, laundry, cleaning - got to get everything done and shipshape ready for double torture tomorrow). First at 9 of the clock, the feety folk continue to try to rectify the mess that their guy left them in 5 weeks ago. They will try me with some 24/7 slipper-shoes; whatever the hell they are. But as I said to the head podiatrist I will try anything*. If they ameliorate enough pain to allow me to function with less morphine, then hooray. And after that the nurses come to deal with the dressings (the podiatrist won't redress them; she will just wrap them in clingfilm). Malcolm my nurse will finish just after midday and if I am lucky I will get over the nausea about 5 p.m. and hopefully will be able to stomach some food then. *The high boss podiatrist told me that I was using my feet too much, in that minatory tone that implied that I was responsible for the state of them rather than them not treating them for 17 weeks, when the recommendation is every 5 weeks. As if I could somehow hover around doing stuff... |

Lunch: corned beef and English mustard sandwich. Walkers s&v.
Just a quick blast on KoA:RR. Got the skill that makes the controller vibrate if I'm in the vicinity of a hidden chest. Also got the Quake might spell 💪. Need to find extra storage or something as I was having to leave stuff behind because my inventory is full. Also did a mission to help someone who'd been duffed up in the town square. I needed to fetch/find a potion. Went to the alchemist who said she didn't have any, so I crept into her basement and looted one from a chest of drawers. Saved the woman who'd been duffed up. A real hero.
OTTM, a beautiful sunny autumn day, clear blue skies and nice and mild.
OOTTM, went for a haircut earlier. Number 3 back and sides, barely a tickle on top (sob).

Bonjour, Mamifere Preferes parents have just departed back to France. We managed to eat all the cheese but we have a large saussigson still needing eaten. No games. Watching Handmaids tale S1 as MP hadnt seen it. Forgot how grim it was. OTTM: Really enjoyed the First Minister unleashing a Tsunami of Butthurt on the poor tories yesterday, almost admirable how they can pretend not to know how badly they are despised by so many people. Excellent work.

I watched The Last Jedi too. Well the last half.
I’d forgotten how much I like it, after all the grief it’s had.
The only parts I don’t like are the salt planet battle, and the bit where Luke Skywalker disappears or whatever he does.
Also … No-one replies to the rescue beacon. It’s time for the resistance to knock it on the head at this point. The galaxy doesn’t care.

Excellent work. Her speech this afternoon was excellent. Statesmanlike, intelligent and convincing. I did wonder about where the money was coming from... and the nuts and bolts of disentanglement and/or how continued association / common areas would be agreed / funded. ...even if independence becomes actual, continued union and association in many areas will be necessary; defence is one that springs to mind, as is cooperation in Science, trade harmonization or not (the EU are very unlikely to admit Scotland as a separate entity - too many member states have a vested interest in not encouraging admission of breakaway regions Catalonia, the Vendee, Lombardy etc. etc. to allow easy admission in the face of strong Westminster opposition). |

Although I can't eat this it does look very tasty (I can't help feeling that the image of Deutsche Küchen has unjustly got the lingering essence of Sauerkraut hiding some real gems). Morning all!
Quite an eventful time on the trains today, on the platform on the way home I saw a rather agitated looking man decanting two big cans of white monster into plastic cups. He was on his own, except for his dog. He then squashed and threw away the cans. I didn't see what he did with the cups, but they disappeared shortly after. Bit odd.
I've also been subscribed some post phlebotomy drugs. Its a pretty big dosage, but the tablets are quite small. The instructions are fairly non specific. Do they tell you if they're supposed to go in... you know... the other entrance? Is it an explicit instruction or do you just get a wink and a nod at the pharmacist? I'm going to try by mouth first.

Once you've started calling the exit "the other entrance" then I think you know that the pharmacist has given you the nod and the wink. Of course nobody says explicitly or writes it down, that would be disgusting.

But there are some bits that make me cringe really hard.
Luke calling his light saber a laser sword. urgh
Then he drinks from the Alien teet. stupid.
John Boyega as Finn throughout. Admiral Holdo becoming EXTREMELY sarcastic as soon as she takes charge. Everything to do with idea of 'The Master Code Breaker'
I was very much wanting the First Order to kill everyone and for it to be over after half an hour.
At some points it feels like an unintentional (or intentional) episode of Rick and Morty.
