Went to an open surgery where they said they were offering both at the same time. Turned out, after queuing for nearly an hour, that they were only doing the Covid jab,
Had my flu jab a week later at my local pharmacy.

I currently take gaba's and Ibuprofen, both of which are slowly doing damage to me.
I was considering a more dynamic pain killer and wondered if I should go in the direction of opiods.
I didn't intend a negative by my comment, childish as it was.

I take co-codamol 30/500 and have done for about 6 years. They are for my arthritis. I take 4.5 a day maximum. 2 together and I don't like the effects, but 1.5 I find ok. I had wondered about the addiction side of them so stopped taking them about a month ago. Had some mild withdrawal symptoms but nothing major. Had no feeling of wanting or needing to take them which was the bit I was worried about. First week without them was fine my pain felt no different. The second week the pain in my knees was pretty bad so I decided to start taking them again as walking was very painful. They must take a while to get completely out of your system. |

Sorry mate; it sounded as though your comment was about covid/flu jabs. Morphine and all its works are to be avoided as much as possible. That includes Tramadol, Fentanyl etc... I have found that they aren't as effective as Paracetamol AND you get stuck with balancing laxatives with the morphine so your bowels continue to function. Frankly, there is NO drug which doesn't cause you damage. Overdosing regularly on Paracetamol will damage your liver. If you have an addictive personality do not go off piste. If you look up something on the net, cross-check it with a pharmacist - they are experts in drugs - not doctor's. |

A further word re opioids. Past 30ml a day any increase only yields a temporary increase in relief. That will disappear so that, like all addictive substances, you need yet more for the same effects. You enter a cycle of increasing dosage for the same effect, your addiction increases and so do the harmful side-effects. Coming off morphine at high levels will give you severe cold sweats and horrific stomach cramps IN ADDITION to the pain you're already in. Do.not.go.there |
