I've had to put the heating on for the first time this year, just for 30 minutes though. It would be nice if Blitish Glas would give me my £66 EBSS payment for October, but the buggers haven't. Does not bode well for Novembers spondoolies.
Wait we are apologising and not just flouncing? Does anyone want to be called wench, all the cool kids and even Taytay is saying it. All set for strictly? Not sure if the fireworks and 3 dogs will survive it or if that's the sounds of explosives outside.
It's like WWII outside... next door's dogs are variously barking and whimpering... poor little fuckers. I wonder if Tuffers would've tried this out if his PM was absent?
My day to day keyboard is the kbdfans 67 lite R2 with lubed (you heard) akko macha green switches and some XDA keycaps. I took out the gateron yellows as they were too light for typing.
I'd quite like a keychron q2 with the programmable knob but I can't justify the money. But, to get back on topic. The keyboard of lust. Is probably the one Taeha made for some streamer.
But I wouldn't blow $3.5k on a keyboard. It's a bit like hifi. There's a price point I'd spend where I wouldn't notice/appreciate the difference after that. Keyboard - probably £300.
HiFi. Three grand probably.
Apparently I've needed a hearing aid longer than I realised.
Our cat is outside somewhere, no doubt absolutely terrified. I've been calling him, but no sign.
Poor little bugger. I hate this time of year.
And that's the main reason I hate fireworks; all the pets I've ever had, including the idiot budgie*. The hedgehogs used to hide under my wreck of a garden shed, and the bloody fireworks would some cold Autumns wake the poor little bastards out of hibernation, so we I** would end up having to feed them so that they could build back the mass to survive the Winter. I wasn't sure that I wasn't feeding rats.
But I know that not all pets are bothered - with you, The Lad and Tootsie making strange noises at random hours, it's no great surprise that Tids Jnr isn't fussed.
* budgerigar you perverts.
** "We need to feed them" became "You haven't fed the hedgehogs" because it was fucking wet, cold and windy and their was no way that madam was going outdoors...

Football Went to Stoke, we won ,came back. Enjoyable. We are in the top half. First time since 2016 at this stage of the season. Nosebleed time. World cup I'll watch as much as I can. I'd rather it was in the Summer and not in Qatar, but it is what it is.
Football has never been a very moral sport in my lifetime. The first World cup I have any memory of is Argentina. That was a worse place at the time than Qatar is, by far.
I am deeply uncertain about some of the issues. I am definitely against the bribery and corruption and the exploitation of workers from poor countries. That deeply taints it.
I wouldn't consider going there. That's mostly down to cost and the booze bans. Oh and I don't much like very hot countries. It's not a moral thing.
I'd rather all countries were godless democratic republics where everybody has the right to he who they want to be and do what they like (so long as who they want to do it with agrees). They aren't though. And aren't going to be. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with restricting the World Cup to only countries who sign up to our current social norms. In some ways it may be better to go to more repressive countries and open them to different cultures. Maybe not the England band though. Nobody deserves that.

I presume that is per component. You can get some pretty good stuff for that sort of money.
If I had the house room and the money i'd like to try some pretty pricey speakers. The big Wilson speakers that cost about £0.5m look pretty cool. They would fill my flat a bit too much though.
I'd like a cinema room with about 30 speakers for full surround. With a decent processor I think you could make music sound amazing.
Also a dedicated music room with high quality stereo speakers
The one thing that might put me off is the familiarity effect. Which is that so long as the equipment is competent you basically get absorbed in whatever you are watching or listening to (if it is good enough) and your brain dismisses anything else so the benefits if very expensive equipment over merely competent stuff is minimal. It would be nice to have a free choice of anything, but it wouldn't necessarily add much to your enjoyment.

I went in to the office today to check my mail for the first time since starting wfh in 2020. 3 Christmas cards in total from two festive seasons. A real 1 - 0 fingerwag right there to all those naysayers who said I was joyless prick with no friends.
Ian Hislop: ‘The others have been very gentle with you Gary, but the elephant in the room is still there. I mean, you’re commentating there, aren’t you?’
Gary Neville: Yeah I am commentating there
IH: What’s the defence?’
GN: My view always has been that you either highlight the issues and challenges in these countries and speak about them, or you basically don’t say anything and you stay back home and don’t go. And I think we should challenge them.
IH: There’s another option – you stay at home and highlight the abuse. You don’t have to go and take the Qataris’ money, not a very good defence
23 - and effing furious. I put the correct answer in for line 8 bottom left and it rejected it as a word; line 8 was like giving me the finger. Line 9 it refused every damned word. So I came out and cleared the cache, went back in and tried my line 7 attempt and voilà it's suddenly right. Bastards...
