I’ve got this course … Two of the ‘Learning outcomes’ are showing empathy and showing humility. Maybe the course providers will humiliate participants. I hope not …

Played Control but got stuck on a timed sequence which I needed to complete to enable me to get a psychic shield thing. About to give up when I found Assist Mode in the options file. Cheats are the best. More life, more energy and able to continue down into the mine.

At the moment I’m learning to develop a culture of Psychological Safety, but also how to be more Assertive.

Whisky: The Singleton Of Dufftown (also a glass of cask strength Laphroaig, withy water)
I had not had the Singleton before. It's a decent Speyside malt. Will drink the rest of it.
It's not as nice as Glenlivet as Speyside whiskies go.
Also lacks the body of a good Island whisky. I'd describe it as cross maybe between Jura and Glenlivet, but not as good as either.
The Laphroaig was magnificent. Austere, peaty, forward on the plate. And definitely requiring some water after the first sip.

For workplace catharsis, how about an away day where everyone gets a sheet of paper with the names of all the other members of the team on it, and they put a tick next to the ones they wish to inflict physical harm upon. Then the moderator puts together those who have ticked each other's names - like speed dating, only it's speed hating. Each pair steps into a small Thunderdome type arrangement, perhaps a rough approximation of Tebay carpark constructed from nearby desks, and they can have at it for a period of one minute, no holds barred. Everyone else watches and hoots, and (optional) throws chicken bones into the arena. After everyone's had it out and/or got to watch others having it out, there is a cathartic group hug, and team morale will have been renewed for another year. Then it's just AOCB, coffee and biscuits, and home.
