Awaiting the blanket boys now - their parting shots last night, when they turned up an hour late last night were to tell me that they had three extra visits to fit in an to leave the hot water tap on. I was bloody lucky my helpful neighbour wasn't out on call somewhere in London, so he was able to turn the tap off. (He's an expert Fibre engineer, so covers from Oxford to Dartford.) TV: NCIS E15:S12: I love this programme, but the free seasons finish at S17, so I'm casting around for free replacement series. Flash Gordon E1:S1: looks a strong possible so far, much to my great surprise! Games: NP2, AoW3

No TV. Games. BF4.

hi
On the way to work. I spent ages last night trying to coax some TV content from the Smart TV in this flat. I think itβs fairly old so everything goes slow, there arenβt some streaming channels and sometimes it freezes. The wi-fiβs quite erratic too. Watched ten minutes of βNaked Lunchβ but it kept freezing and stuttering so ended up watching the Gordon Ramsay βNext Level Cookingβ show instead.
I also drank some Ardbeg whisky, which was delicious, but the taste afterwards was as if Iβd gargled with Listerine and cooked a portion of smoky sausages in my mouth.

Has anyone got a robot vacuum cleaner?
A part of me wonders if I should get one. It feels a good 21st century thing to do - though they look a bit rubbish.
Can they move the coffee table / unit to pick up morsels of Bombay Mix? I doubt it.

I just walked past a fairly generic hotel pub / bar, which has a message along the top of the windows saying something like: βThe streets of London are mapped but our passions are uncharted β¦ What are you going to meet if you turn this corner?β
My workplace. Leave me alone.

The coffee vendor in the reception area of my workplace sells a drink called βLondon Fogβ. Itβs made of Earl Grey tea, vanilla syrup and steamed milk: A sort of off-grey colour with a steamy frothy top. I mocked the concept when it first appeared but people are buying it. Well - Iβve seen one Chinese student buy it. Hoodwinked.

I imagine Lazybones leaving a Hansel and Gretel style trail for the robot vacuum leading it either in to the oven (If Lazy is playing the witch) or out of an upper floor window.
Then wondering why it didn't have more sense.

Well not unless you are drinking Farrow & Ball paint, which is an ecumenical matter.

Morning all.
All go this morning, as I took the boy to school and then had to nip to the dentists for an appointment with the hygienist. A good bit of bone-scrapinβ.
Whilst doing the school-run, I saw two kids almost reversed-over by a woman in a VE Touareg. Sheβd parked on a corner, parked on double-yellow lines. Bloody idiot.
Filmblog: My partner went to bed early last night, which gave me the opportunity to finally watch the latest All Quiet on the Western Front. A beautiful, horrible, brilliant, haunting film. One to watch.

Morning
Back to work. Dang.
Dead Space. A game breaking bug scuppered my hopes of completing chapter 3. Well, not game breaking, but annoying enough to make me turn it off. Enter room, kill wave of monsters. Trigger event. Try and kill mental second wave of monsters so you can then ignite engine sequence. Three failed attempts at second wave saw me torn to bloody shreds. Puts on thinking cap. Before triggering event, scouts area and sets up defence area and surrounds with explosive canisters and stashes projectiles. Triggers event. No second wave. Hmmm. Jumps in and out of safe area. No second wave. Oh well, maybe after three failed attempts the game has let me skip through in pity. Walks over to terminal to start ignition sequence. No. Walks around for half an hour. Nothing. Game still wants second wave to be slaughtered. Turns off game.
Cool story.

We have a robot vacuum cleaner. It is incredibly stupid, I think by design, and just drives headfirst into any objects it encounters making a loud bang. It doesn't seem to have done any damage to anything yet and just turns around and drives off in a different direction, seemingly at random.
It does however get the floors reasonably clean with minimal effort. The only problem is if you have lots of dangly things it might eat at floor level, you have to tidy those up first, otherwise it becomes ensnared in a tangle of cables of its own creation.

Crazy morning; fecking Social Worker ringing me every half hour with "just another question". Trouble is she's got an impenetrable Nigerian accent, can't spell, and can't be arsed to look up... ...interval (15 year old Shredder Bella Ficili... then 14) ...while "Rose" asks for yet another piece of information that I gave her yesterday.
