A man in Australia answers the door to find a somber policeman.
"Sir, we found a body on the beach and we believe it's your half-sister."
"I don't have a ha... do you mean my *sister*?"
"Nah, mate, a shark got her!"

Morning.
Made a fried egg after taking the child to school and the yolk broke in the pan. Weekend ruined. Should have had turnip instead. All very Ben Elton political satire. Yes indeed.
The PM went to bed really early last night so I had several rounds of Warzone quads.
TV. Second last episode of Kaleidoscope. It's ok, seen better heist stuff.
Anyone watching the Brinks Mat thing on BBC?

I'm just playing the free one. Yeah it's good fun. But I'm just looking for a run around shooting folk/bots. I'm not a "pro" or think I am like the good people of Reddit.

The carers got here at 9a.m. - they were blocked on their route so they had to go by my place to get around the accident. So I've been rushed through my morning routine so that I can try and sort out the megamess that is my supply situation. "Hannah will call you messages" for 4 weeks and this is now urgent...

A shit week of trying to juggle 2 workloads, malingering colleague resumed from his illness yesterday. Fucker appeared to have a suntan on team zoom this morning. It's the last time I take on his work, the lazy smug prick
3 days off now though. Playing lego skywalker saga this morning in pyjamas, with the youngest. Taking her to the pub in an hour to meet some of the dads from school, while the kids play in the beer garden and I drink three pints of 80 shilling and scarf a ploughman's lunch

muffratMcEwans heavy? Or is 80' a generic beer title I'm not aware of? Price of the barrel or something in days gone by. Your colleague sounds a knob. Fuckers like that who think they're getting one over on you and you don't realise are the worst. Years ago we had a librarian who would go off on the sick in Nov and come come back about March. If I was being kind I'd suggest he had SAD. His pals crop used to harvest then so he'd go get wrecked for 3 months. {Edit} They extended Gamepass family pass to another 6 countries a couple of days ago. So hopefully here this year at some point.

It's a generic system dating from some point in the 19th century between 1830 and 1880. The price 60/ 70/ 80/ 90/ refers to the pre-tax price of a barrel apparently. The prices applied roughly up to the 1930s It's a bit odd that it is still in use now.
It's mostly only used for traditional Scottish ales though McEwans Belhaven etc. I have always regarded as a good sign you'll get a slightly disappointing beer. I think Scottish beer used to be underhopped and maltier in comparison to English beer in general. Its not a style I liked. Modern Scottish beers are generally fine though. I have had some very nice stuff.
