With the amount of booze on the menu I'm surprised they get the books in any sort of order rather than just dump them in a pile in a corner. whatalark, you clearly don’t know anything about librarians. A higher-standard of sobriety and teetotalism there isn’t. Pure of body and mind they are. That’s why the Christmas bash is off the hook. Makes up for the rest of the year of complete abstinence.

Looks like Credit Suisse is in trouble. Decades of cashing Babyfark's cheques is coming back to haunt them.
Time to discover some more looted gold in the vault.

now I’m not sure how I got that, as by my reckoning they were ALL telling the truth….. Boris? The murderer is lying. The information they provide isn't directly necessary to the answer, but I presumed that one knew where something was as they were in that location. If you assume that Caesar is murdered in the spoiler removed then one clue gives you the correct answer You don't have to make assumptions, and sometimes the spoiler is a red herring. If you work through the statements on the basis that, e.g., the first one is false and the others correct, then it always leads to an internal inconsistency, except where you've picked the correct murderer.

But... But Sir...
My detective doesn't know who is lying, and being a kindly soul has believed them all, and there are no inconsistencies.
If he disbelieves the actual guilty party, then this does alter the placements of the other 2 innocents, but doesn't create a conflict proving anyones guilt.
He applied 'Swaffham Logic' and knew that Caesar took a stabbing in real life, so from knowing the weapon, also had the killer and location.

Banking fraudulent cheques is a bit like making love to a beautiful woman. Best done at sunrise on the North Face of the Eiger?

Best done in the local post office at the front of a queue of old people chatting aimlessly about the weather.

Banking fraudulent cheques is a bit like making love to a beautiful woman. The FTSE has dropped 3% since you posted that, though the pound has stopped falling against the dollar.

Hunt has scrapped the lifetime allowance cap on pensions, which is a huge tax break to very wealthy. I think that's mainly to end an excuse that doctors habitually give for retiring at 55. Going forward they'll just retire at 55 without an excuse because they are absolutely minted either way.

Going forward they'll just retire at 55 without an excuse because they are absolutely minted either way. Doctors, bankers whatever, the very rich have been handed a huge unfunded tax break. As bad as anything Truss did. They should have capped at £1.5m.

He also increased the annual allowable pension contribution to £60,000, from £40,000. That's a nice break worth up to £4k a year in reduced tax bills.

At least with the annual allowance going up from 40k to 60k we can all put an extra £20k away and save on our tax bills.
Oh.

I won £8.25 plus a £2.50 free bet yesterday. That is actual profit. I think the free bet is compensation for one of my horses passing the final winning post.
I have decided to return most of this to the bookie.

Hullo. I've been shopping. I am building up a dislike for the manageress in Clinton cards. Please note the following exchange:-
*Tids has just decided on a Mothers Day card and swans up to the counter to pay. The transaction is done, but the manageress is not done with Tids*
SourfacedCow: Would you like to buy a pen for breast cancer?
*'Fucks sake', thinks Tids. Every fucking time she asks this - I'll get her*
Tids: No thanks. Do you have any for testicular cancer?
SourfacedCow: What?
Tids: Do.you.have.any.pens.for.Testicular.Cancer?
SourfacedCow: No, but we've got them for prostate cancer. *reaches behind counter and produces said pen*. They're £2.75.
*Tids mutters something about not having enough change and fucks off to a flurry of scowls from SourfacedCow.*
