Have to say Clinton Cards dealt well with one of the Men's Rights activists.
Were you dressed as Spiderman?

I'm still annoyed. My point is this:- I'm buying a Mothers Day card and I get a Breast Cancer pen thrust in my face. When I (used) to buy Fathers Day cards, they still shoved a Breast Cancer pen in my face. They had prostate cancer ones, but you had to ask for them. I suppose I need to let it go.
I knew I could rely on you, Dr Shenguin. I feel better now.

I see your point and there should be more men's health awareness promoted.
Were you dressed as Spiderman?

I see your point and there should be more men's health awareness promoted. Were you dressed as Spiderman? No, I was wearing one of my Father's old waxen Jackets* in green, black jeans.
* I've got about 6 of his old jackets, I've only worn this one - it was his favourite too.
The card was an Art Deco style one. Any further questions must be directed to my legal representatives, 'Baby, Baby & Fark' - attorneys at law.

There's another thing that rankles me.
By the time I got the parental mansion after the Covid restrictions were lifted, my Sister's husband had already nicked all of Dad's shoes.
That is proper cunt behaviour.

I need to buy a mothers day card, and also a new frying pan. In my naivety I had assumed both would be relatively straightforward

Go for a stone one, that's my advice. Card ones are much less durable.

I've got loads of frying pans, but I've never used them.
If you give me your bank details, I will post one to you.

I have a new frying pan. Itβs a lot like the old new one but 4 cm smaller (in a diameter sense).
It has 6x β¦ I think toughness? Or durability. I canβt say for sure.
So far it seems ok.

Mothers day: My Mother died in 1996 Fathers day: My Father died in 2007 My senior Instructor/Mentor died in 2001 My other senior Instructor/Mentor died in 2018 (My Sensei still lives) I've had school friends who have died my grandfather who died and other friends of friends who have died.
On the bright side I have no siblings and I don't have to pander to the commercial bullshit that drives everyone to spend money on made up holidays and 'special days'.

My daughter attended a Duke of Edinburgh award camp start of last month, with hundreds of other kids from across the region who had signed up to some community support scheme that the school had subscribed to. It was a fun weekend for her - they did various outdoorsy stuff, and those that were interested (or, more relevantly, forced to do so by their teacher) could submit a 200 word piece on 'The importance of helping your community' for a chance to win one of a number of prizes. She texted me for help, but what she'd written was fine - I just told her to spice up her anecdote a bit. She has a strong inherited gift for bullshit so it turned out pretty well.
To cut a long story short - my daughter found out today in assembly that she has won first prize - a fucking PlayStation 5!! Some other kid from her year won a selection of art materials and a hobbycraft voucher, he was gutted apparently. Daughter couldn't give a shit about consoles, so has negotiated selling it to me for Β£200, plus getting the old massive telly from the lounge in her bedroom when our new one arrives later this week.
I'm absolutely made up. The only other thing I've ever won of value in my life was also a PlayStation, a PS1 when I was a student, from 'The Face' magazine. (I know technically I didn't win this PS5, but it still feels like a win)
Should be here in 4-6 weeks apparently

"To cut a long story short", missed the short bit.

Felice Landry 'to cut a long story short' - point taken. I'd actually written yards more than that but deleted it because it was irrelevant - I was waffling because I was excited and had had a gin, but it's still a fair old chunk of text I suppose. And neither of the kids have ever sold me anything, up til now. She was super chuffed to have won it, but she had no desire to own a PlayStation. I told her she could easily sell it for Β£450, but she suggested cutting a deal with me, which we're both very happy with (how happy she'll be when I've sold her some dinner and deducted this month's rent and bills from the total is another matter)

I had the chickenpox in primary school and whilst off school Ill I filled in a competition in the Sunday Mail. You had to pair up sets of eyes from TV. Bodie & Doyle, JR & Sue Ellen. That sort of thing. My dad filled in his details and sent it off. We won a Mini Metro. The week they were released in the UK. Never saw a fucking penny*. So basically muffrat you're doing well by your kid. Top result though. Heading home. Absolutely chucking it down. *Yes yes, they fed me and kept me.in clothes etc for 18 yrs.

"He also announces extra help for those with prepayment meters, saying he will βbring their charges in line with comparable direct debit chargesβ.
So does that mean the Treasury are paying the difference or does it mean they are forcing the companies to charge the same?
It reads as the former which is a fucking disgrace. Of course this doesn't surprise me.
