I am a big fan of Trappist Beers. They offer something distinctive. I particularly enjoyed the odd method of buying Westvleteren. Meeting a monk in a drive through in a field in Northern Belgium.
I still have some bottles of their 12. At 10.5% it's not that Moreish Nice, but a bit heavy. It also matures in the bottle for up to a couple of years.
Making Lentil Soup. Got a bit of a lie in . There's always the worry the child gets up at 6.15 BST aka 5.15.
No real plans for the day. Chicken pie for dinner.
Passes you on your way to bed?
Being woken from a drunken slumber on the sofa -- surrounded by the detritus of heavy drinking -- by a child getting ready for school, and realising you're meant to be in work shortly, truly is the most unalloyed of joys in life.
A bit of a dump, though managed to squeeze home β¬100 of THC gummies in my luggage - so a partial win
Got home and my PS5 had arrived - so have spent 2 days scratching my head over Death Stranding directors cut. Cheerfully baffling nonsense. It feels kind of like having a second job.
Saving Demons Souls til I can take a good run up at it. I've also DL'd Miles Morales, the Uncharted 4 remaster, and some cool looking fighting games too. Where's the time going to come from to play them all? I need to shirk some responsibilities I think - can't afford to get sacked, so it's the kids that will suffer. They're used to it
Not on an empty stomach but also, give it an hour after you've eaten. Breakfast I mean.
Do they say the strength? 25mg?
I got a great deal - they were β¬5 per 20mg gummy (green watermelon flavoured turtles), but I got an extra 5 for spending β¬100, and then they gave me the last 4 from the jar because it was 5 mins to closing and they were shutting the shop for a couple of weeks.
Your dosing strategy is spot on though - I had one after a four course meal before getting on the plane on Thursday, didn't feel a thing all the way back, but slept for 14 hours after getting home - not done that for >25 years. Smashed one yesterday early afternoon after only having weetabix, was pleasantly leathered all afternoon and most of the evening
Pissed off anew that you can't buy them over here.
Jesus Christ, the Julian Borger opinion piece on the G about nuclear weapons must be one of the most logically-twisted biased bits of pro-American fluffery I have ever read. What the fuck are the Guardian doing publishing that without comment? If we tolerate this, then the Chatterbox will be next.
Apparently the problems in Iraq began with the American withdrawal. He also seems unaware that IS and the civil war in Syria were largely financed and organised by the Saudis. And that for some years IS in Syria was effectively protected by the US. As the police the U.S.A is somewhere between Wayne Couzens and Bastard Dave.

I love Westmalle. It would be sad if Trappist monks could no longer fulfill demand but I would happily drink it if it was made by non-monks.

My main take on this is that Muffrat is a dangerous individual who has weetabix for lunch.

I think the monasteries will enter agreements with commercial brewers if the monks have to stop brewing. I don't think it would mean the end if the beers, but they would no longer be Trappist beers in the same way. I expect their characteristics would be protected.
I expect some of the monasteries will survive. They might have to merge and accept more lay brothers. That is men who live by the rule but have not taken the vows as monks, so are not committed long term.
