A tad torrential today. Flash-floods abound here in the greater Brighton area - drove through two lakes on my way to the office.
Of course, it being an electric car means that I got electrocuted and it’s now on fire, and then a multi-storey car park collapsed.

Picture quality is still very good, but the whole human-interface is… sub-par. In fact, I’ll be looking at screens other than Sony due to the way that tech “works”. I’ll be losing some cherished ports though. No more scart, and no where to plug-in my erstwhile Sennheiser headphones. |

Top tip for Sony TVs. Remove the YouView app. It’s not good. If you take it off the whole thing speeds up considerably.

I only use my Soy TV as a monitor. TV via sky.
The TV is fine. So long as I don't accidentally let YouView start.
Also it occasionally asks me to complete setup. I've had the TV 5 years. It is absolutely set up as much as I need. I've corrected the picture more or less to my satisfaction.
I would happily buy a TV that is a dumb monitor with no speakers, but there are none available. A PC monitor wouldn't work as I want a big screen.

The Florida UAP landing and subsequent video of alleged alien (typically fuzzy and just in shot) is the current issue getting the community all excited, it all looks terribly fake to me. |

You do get 55" 4k monitors with quick refresh rates but they are much more expensive than tv's the same size.

55" doesn't cut it for me.
I have a 65" TV. I would consider going larger next time as well.
And having fries with it.
I really like the bigger screen for films, football and games.
In fact everything I watch.
It's not quite cinema, but not far off. The sound is often better. The sound mix was poor last time I went to a cinema. The bass was boomy and not just in action scenes. It was as if they had turned the sound up until the speakers started to distort.
Plus I don't have to buy vastly overpriced snacks and put up with a load of cunts.
