It seems a shame that we have come to a point that the only career opportunities for some young people is working in fast food outlets. We need industry not more coffee. Shenguin isn't that young.

Every job will be done by A.I soon anyway. Bring it on I say.
Evening
Just watched Jaws. A film the same age as me. 5*
Just started watching Taken. Bad move. My eldest is going on a school trip to Barcelona next year. Think I'll switch over to watch something else.
OTTM, Five Guys is the best burger chain. FACT (Rafa Benitez voice).

More film chat.
Until recently, I'd only seen the Josh Brolin version of Old Boy. I've now seen the original. In the minority I'm sure, but I prefer the Josh Brolin one.
Anyone else?
Guys?
GUYS?
SNAAAAAKE?!?

I'm watching Butcher's Crossing on Amazon. It is a film of the John Williams book, which I liked. Nicolas Cage is involved.

(Seriously though, watch the others in the original trilogy - you will shit your pants... again)

It's in one of the piles. I enjoyed Stoner and I'm pretty sure I read and liked Augustus. Difficult to be 110% sure.

I liked all 3 of the books. I basically platinumed John Williams. The film is not terrible, but not very good.

I am drinking Curious IPA. Mostly i am curious as to why someone thought they should bottle and sell it. It's not awful awful but it reminds me of home brew beer. It's got that not made by a professional brewer taste and is not 100% clear. Plus the bottles are quite variable. Some fizz up as soon as they are opened. Some don't.
I am on the last bottle anyway. I will not be buying it again.

I am nitro- Guinness curious. I am thinking* about buying the widget thing and getting proper draught Guinness at home.
Would this improve my life? Yes, yes it would.
* obsessing.

I've had the nitro cans in a few places. I don't think they are quite as good as a real poured pint. But equally i probably don't neeed to install a full bar at home. And buy kegs of Guinness.
Though that remains an option.

Story for the ages part 2.
Like everyone else in the world who visits Dublin, I've been to the Guinness factory. Lovely drop. Also that prison where they shot that fillum.
Anyway, in the hotel bar, I got chatting to an Oirish man. It was the weekend before the Cheltenham festival. 2007 I think. We got chatting. He was going to Cheltenham and gave me a tip on an Irish trainers horse. Apparently, everyone in Ireland was backing it.
When we got back home I put a tenner on it (a big bet for me) and told people at work who bet on it too. It won by a mile at, I think, 4/1. Or maybe it was 7/2. It was 2nd favourite, so not a massive slice of inside info. Anyway, I was well chuffed.
More Tolkienesque wordsmithery tomorrow, folks.

Getting racing tips from Irish men in pubs during Cheltenham used to be a thing. Though I sometimes wondered if they knew so much about horses why they were drinking in cheap pubs not in the swanky bars.
On the plus side most of the time were good.
