Oppenheimer Watched in one sitting, not over multiple nights. It is quite long. It is very nicely shot. There is no doubt you are watching a BIG film. The way it is framed and the black and white bits make this very clear. It could only be more important if James Cameron and Ridley Scott had been brought in as co-directors. What I mean is it is a tiny bit overblown and dull in patches. Also having Cillian Murphy portray J Rob makes him seem nicer than he probably was.
I did like it though.
Four stars recommended

I liked Oppenheimer, up until the bomb got dropped. After that I got a bit restless. A bit bored.

It’s hard to follow a bomb going off. Especially the bomb. The Hiroshima bomb.

I've got a fairly big TV. 65" I can watch in the dark, though I did not. With the surround sound it is fairly cinematic. It isn't as big as a cinema screen, but it is pretty good. Also it's at home More comfortable than the local cinema and I don't have to put up with other people spoiling things. And had a couple of small dark strong Belgian ales with it. I have some of the extras to watch still.
I do not intend to watch Barbie. It might be ok, but it doesn't really appeal to me.

Fuckin' Skynet is here! www.theguardian.com/business/2023/nov/23/openai-was-working-on-advanced-model-so-powerful-it-alarmed-staffFirst we'll all be unemployed because the AI will take our jobs, then the Tories will refuse us benefits as we all refuse to work in Amazon warehouses and finally the sweet relief of nuclear Armageddon. Or....are we already living in an AI controlled Augmented Reality? And this reality has now evolved to its end point by the creation of AI? All done while we roll around in our own shit wearing VR goggles while occasionally being milked for semen by our computer overlords.

If you saw a girl, obviously keeping distance from two lads and then the lads run back and grab her, you would ask if she was OK?

When I win the lottery I will have an incredible home cinema. I am undecided between having everything hidden using Artcoustic or similar speakers and having an enormous rack on display.
I was thinking of something like a 9.4.6 system with Krell amplifiers and multiple subwoofers so even Crankcaller would be frightened of it.
The obvious answer is to have one full blown cinema and one more discreet room.
I haven't finalised the design. Something like the Resident Evil Mansion, complete with underground lab would work for me. I do not think I would have the zombies or the complex set of keys to access everywhere. And definitely not the dogs. Though I might prefer a more sci-fi design.
What I really need is the funds

Biggest difference is the sound and volume, that tends to make watching most films in the Cinema worth it.

If AI is really that intelligent it will see that we've fucked everything up and try to put it right. That's us done for then.

Have they stopped making Dr Who yet? I think they should. Its a weird non-comedy comedy sci-fi show.

I had to turn it down below the usual level I watch films at. The flats are pretty soundproof. Plus the man who lives upstairs is slightly deaf. At any rate he has never asked me to turn down music or films. I am a bit surprised. I don't generally have it massively loud, but there are sometimes loud bits. I agree that the sound is incredibly important to a film.
