I am on the way back from the Netherlands today. I didn’t get to speak much Dutch because everyone speaks great English. One day. My dad asked me to ‘get him something nice’. It might have to be a box of chocolates with pictures of Dutch buildings on the wrappers. I’m ruminating on the prospect of Storm Henk. No toblerone from duty free? I was gifted a big Toblerone by my father at Christmas. I was also gifted a big Toblerone by the pm. I just love Toblerone. I settled for a metal tin of stroopwaffels in the end. |

Why are storms being given names? Crazy individualism. Apparently it’s so that people pay attention to stormy weather, and hopefully don’t do as much stupid things in it. People are idiots. |

I’m about to board a plane scheduled to fly into the heart of Storm Henk. Well actually it was delayed. The brave pilot flew over from London during a break in the storm and is now going to fly back. I’ve worked it all out on the Met Office weather app. It’s going to be a difficult landing.
