The pilot has identified a ‘small but significant’ engineering issue with the plane. Being a bit delayed again. What kind of pilot does he sound like? Is he a calm, reserved Dad like figure? Or a brash, adrenaline junkie who likes to cut corners?

The pilot has an Australian accent. It might be from New Zealand … He sounds calm and reassuring.
The weather is terrible here. Still not convinced we will take off, though the engineers I think have said the problem is fixed.
What is the best alcoholic drink for being on a plane? What is the best alcoholic drink for being on a plane that’s about to fly into a north sea storm? …

I decapitalised the N and the S in ‘North Sea Storm’ because seeing it typed out like that put the willies up me.

If this is storm Hank then what will the next one be ? I'm going with Iacchus meaning to SHOUT. Good name for a storm. But more likely Ian or Isobel

Think we had Ian last year. If not already used, I think Ivan would be a good storm name.

Storm Innit for me or Storm Icarus if it is a big one.

Poor Lazybones, up there in the ether.
All it needs is for the crew and half the passengers to have the fish for dinner, and then it’ll end up with Lazy having to fly the plane. At least he’s over his drinking problem.

Did they work out why the Tokyo aircraft caught fire and did they ever find out what happened to mh370?
The last Dutch aircraft I heard about was gunned down by the russians, it's not like the took out the pipeline in international waters to set a precedent for doing sneaky things.

I have just been to John Lewis and bought a duster. When I got home there was a fox sat in my parking space.
Hell of a start to the evening. I'm not sure I can handle any more excitement

Purchased a new bread knife. Wow what a difference. I reckon you could remove an arm with it.

The best drink to have turned out to be a brandy, but they didn’t have it … They did have Johnnie Walker, which was ok.
It was a bit strange coming in to London. I didn’t recognise it at times and it felt a bit like that Twilight Zone episode where an aircraft comes in, no-one recognises where they are, then someone sees a brontosaurus chewing a tree. I think it’s the Twilight Zone that conditioned my expectations of a flight on a stormy night too. The idea of looking outside and seeing something tearing at the engines. Actually once you get above the clouds it’s ok.

It’s the 9th day of Christmas.
I might eat a mince pie, and some gherkins.
Back to work tomorrow.

Back to work tomorrow. A meek serf bound to The Man for a life of soulless toil in exchange for a few crumbs of gruel.
Probably should drink booze and watch darts then. Wa-hey! 🍻

Games chat:
Yesterday I finished not one, but two games. Unprecedented.
Baldurs Gate 3. Played it co-op, and so disregarded most of the actual story and instead looted and murdered our way through the game. Most of it naked (in game at least. I can't vouch for the others irl)
Spooderman 2. Got 100% completion, and just need one more trophy for the platinum.
Gameschat ends
