Mornin'
Think I'm in the minority here, but I've got world cup fever. Love the group stages, three/four games per day. And I'm working from home for all of it. Yeah!
This will be the 10th world cup I'll have watched (calm down grandad etc). 86 is still my fave. I watched some old BBC footage on YouTube last night, that Grandstand Mexico intro music made me all nostalgic. Some of the punditry is, erm, interesting.
Games - tomb raider. Food - bacon. Politics - none. Booze - still none, roll on Saturday.

Dammit I missed Brexit chat... Destry I admire your fortitude. I'm playing the long game with my pal who voted leave. He immediately regretted it, but oncee it kicks in and things start affecting him and his kid I'll take every opportunity to tell him he asked for it. Games! Me and the Brexit chum replayed the fleeca job and some Simian missions due to double dollah. Downloaded bops3 before bed. TV. Finished Billions on the commute.

The punditry is a real eye opener if you look back not too far - though I sometimes get a bit nostalgic for the simpler times of ethnic stereotyping since it;s been replaced by commentators telling you non-stop which players have played in / being linked with a club in 'thepremierleague'.

I am full of the footy pump. Watched the Italia 90 and Euro 96 documentaries and on balance feel Scotland may have actually seen round 2 of a tournament with a better 'keeper and Shilton was past it in 1990.

Goram was Scotland's keeper in 96 wasn't he? One of the best we;ve had in my lifetime. Unless you are referring to David Seaman, since the one he let in between his legs vs Holland prevented the jocks moving effortlessly into the second round and their rightful destiny of a massive pumping by Latvia or someone.

I was thinking of Gazza's volley - that should have been saved. Also Leighton in 1990 let in soft goals against Costa Rica and Brazil.

And Mo Johnston should have buried that last minute chance against Brazil.

Morning!
I had the last few days off for E3 and I'm absolutely hyped for Sekiro, Nioh 2 and Spiderman.
I also bought Fallout 4 GOTY edition and intend on getting baws deep into it.

And Mo Johnston should have buried that last minute chance against Brazil. Leighton vs Brazil was definitely a mistake, though he might have got away with it if the defenders had covered better. Don't think you can blame the keepers for Costa Rica or Gazza (would blame Hendry if anyone for the latter). Mo Johnston - maybe, but it was a great save by Taffarel; and the real reason Costa Rica won that one was that their keeper had a brilliant game. I think in general Scotland just haven;t had good enough teams at the right times, and when you are average you need a bit of luck to progress.

Morning etc.
Almost everyone in my office is on an away day, but as I'm working my notice I wasn't invited. It's glorious.
I am fully pumped for the world cup. I've picked my fantasy team, filled in the predictor, got my wallchart, and am just about to look into the odds on every game in group G ending 0-0.
Re. Berxit - I really doubt anyone who voted for it will ever take any responsibility when it all goes wrong. It will all be the fault of foreigns, corbyn, and all these fackin liberals.

Morning Brexshitters and Remoaners,
I returned to boxing class after 2 months off focusing on uni work. Luckily the session was pretty easy going, especially considering the heat in that tiny hall.
Later I got my teeth into Yakuza 6, as Monday's time on it had been mainly swallowed by cutscenes. There seems to be quite a bit of screen tearing with the new engine which is the sort of thing I was worried would creep into games when the pro was released... Oh well. On the plus side the game transitions seamlessly into the fights so they're much less of a chore.

Morning all,
WFH on this glorious day. Got woken up this morning to someone shouting "DRAGON FIRE" over and over in a demonic voice. Which one of you was it?
No games last night, 5 a side football. Talking of crap keepers. We went from losing by 10 to winning the game by 5. I scored 9. Defending was shambolic all round.
Brexit chat: it was a contentious subject amongst my friendship group, one guy who works for PWC and was for Brexit said that "the slightly educated" voted for remain. Insulting the rest of us in one fell swoop. He's kept pretty fucking quiet since the vote on it mind.
I think basically he assumed we'd become some sort of Swiss/ Singapore bank haven and he'd make a fuck load of money off the back of it.

Morning all,
sub 6th form politics chat Had a couple of mates who voted Leave, both Labour voters btw. They didn't like the way the EU was headed in terms of pushing smaller states, fiscal policy (especially concerning the double standards applied to Greece and the Deutsche bank) and were concerned that if the UK voted remain it'd give the EU a mandate to really increase this attitude (e.g. EU army).
I called them stupid Brexishits and implied they were racist because that's how you frame political debate these days.
Games More fun on the Italian peninsular in Rome 2, the Gauls finally invaded with a single army which was easily dealt with. Unfortunately this will now prompt spam stack armies coming my way. Still, Arretium voted Leave so they deserve it, or something.
