The Dune wiki page says it's heavily influenced by a book called the Sabres of Paradise. I think I am going to rewatch Lawrence of Arabia while pretending to work today, and order Sabres of Paradise and not read it. I just read this: lareviewofbooks.org/article/heresies-of-dune/Pretty interesting. I would kind of like to watch the four hour David Lynch film, if it exists…
Interesting article. Quite a different take from the wiki page, which has Herbert as an environmentalist and anti-imperialist. But I suppose in 1960s America, anything went.

Right, I accidentally drank 4 ales at the pub, then came back to work, accidentally drank a bottle of wine, during which I accidentally had a couple of pints of PGL with my colleagues.
Soon I have to go home, drink another bottle of wine, and play Fortnite.
With any luck, I can do actual BDT next week, instead of this pathetic slow procession of intermittent non-drinking I've suffered tonight .

Sheeps! I'm going for a poo at work, and then I have to walk home, greet anyone who is awake in my house, open a bottle, and then switch the PS4 on. Probably about 45 minutes until I'm on Fortnite.
Don't worry, I won't waste any time closing or locking the toilet door. So that will help me to be quicker.
