So rollings mate sold him a broken old speaker and got him to set up a direct debit to Vodderfone?

It's perhaps the co-joined network the ps5 isn't liking.
What does the ps5 network test say? Just the signal isn't strong enough?

I have my PS5 wired to the internet. I actually have a 15m CAT5 cable from the old flat. How does the current owner of the flat feel about this?

A man applies for a government job
A man applies for a government job A guy goes into the Post Office to apply for a job. The interviewer asks him, “Are you allergic to anything?” He replies, “Yes, caffeine. I can’t drink coffee.
”Ok, Have you ever been in the military service?”
“Yes,” he says, “I was in Afghanistan for one tour.”
The interviewer says, “That will give you extra points toward employment.” Then he asks, “Are you disabled in any way?”
The man says “yes, a bomb exploded near me and I lost both my testicles”
The interviewer is shocked, but assures the man that his disability qualifies him for extra points. “You got the job, sir. Most of us come in at 8am, but you can start tomorrow at 10am.”
“Why do I get to start late?” Asked the man.
“This is a government job. For the first couple hours we just drink coffee and scratch our balls. No point in you coming in for that.”

I bought some Japanese coffee from Sainsbury's. Roasted in and with beans from Europe. I'm such a mug.
But! It didn't cost me anything, it was paid for with a £6 voucher from the Vodafone Rewards section of the Vodafone app.

I have a tremendous number of cables in the corner by the TV
Router Switcher Ethernet plug TV PS2 (unplugged) PS3 PS4 PS5 Sky box Xbox 360 (unplugged)DVD recorder (unplugged) Steamlink (unplugged) NAS 4K Blu Ray player AV Receiver 2 8TB HDDs for PS4 and PS5 for PS4 games Streamer Sub woofer Two plug extensions Plus wiring going out to 6 speakers I don't think there's anything else there
It's mostly hidden behind the unit the TV stands on. What I really need is to extend the room out and have a false wall so the cabling is actually hidden.

Pretty pleased there isn't an internet cable running from the second bedroom downstairs into the lounge I expect. it was a split level flat The cable was a tripping hazard. Because of the circuits I couldn't use ethernet plugs. The PS3 hated wireless. It used to run at Kb per minute not per second when not plugged in to the internet. I had to buy it so Goody, Guavs and Craggy could bully me at PES.

Wait a minute - it's now working! Either something someone told me to do worked, or someone at Vodafone finally pressed the right button. Thank fuck, I was starting to get seriously worried.

I am considering a different setup now the kids are older but will still inevitably manage to break.

I am considering a different setup now the kids are older but will still inevitably manage to break. No. Well a bit, but it doesn't. The flats are pretty well soundproofed. The sub is in a corner and and the only thing outside is a hall. The neighbour opposite can't hear it and for the other neighbour to hear it the sound has to go through the whole flat. I do wonder if the upstairs neighbour can ever hear it, but he says not. We get on ok so I am sure he would tell me. I don't hear anything from the other flats generally I don't generally have it on massively loud, but I do have music or films on late sometimes. The satellite speakers are small so it needs the sub to provide proper bass for music. RollingThe cabling is a nightmare. What I'd really like is in/on wall speakers. But they are 1 out of my price range and 2 the walls aren't suitable. Most of the stuff I've had for ages. The speakers are 20 years old. The worst thing is getting a new TV because that meant getting a new receiver that would do eARC and pass through the pictures. My favourite thing is the DVD recorder. I haven't used it for about 10 years and it doesn't look good on a big TV, but I have some DVDRs I made that I can't watch if I get rid of it. It was really good tech when I got it, but 4K TV, Hard drive recordings and streaming have made it less good. I would absolutely buy a modern version if one were available.

Beanbag, beer fridge. Faceless is living the student life. Except I didn't have a console* or a beer fridge or a beanbag when I was a student. * I think the PSX came out in my final year.

I'm actually thinking of getting a DVD player this weekend, to watch the collection of crap I've been hoovering up from CEX. Getting in on the ground floor of the 2040s DVD revival.

Had a root around down the side of the chair. A brass picture hook minus it's nail and lots of dogs hair was found.

You can use the PS5. Unless it is for a second TV in which case any of PS2-PS4 will do as would various Xboxes. At least get BRD player. They start from about £50, The extra £10 is well worth it. My UHD player came with the TV. Otherwise I'd use the PS5. There is an advantage to two players as for some reason not all 4K discs play in the player. I've had to watch a couple via PS5. The control menu isn't as good, but apart from that there's not a significant difference. I bought my parents the Blu Ray version of my 4K player. It's really useful as when they mess up I can get the same menus on screen and can tell them over the phone which buttons they need to press. Though now they mostly use Netflix.

A lad in our network team blagged a free Cisco router by attending a Meraki webinar. He was getting his house rewired and they also put in Ethernet. So he's got all his house wired up in the walls and an access point for WiFi. Pretty sweet.
