So did I... I fear there has been a glitch in the matrix.
I will confirm.

I am off work again due to sick child. A heads up for those who have yet to have children, you will spend a significant amount of your income on child care and a significant amount of the time the child is supposed to be in child care he\she will in fact be unable to attend due to slightest health issue.

A heads up for those who have yet to avoid having children, you will spend a significant amount of your income on yourself and a significant amount of time won't be wasted on a child. You will have to put up with other people not turning up for work because child. When the existential dread about the environment and the inevitable economic and societal collapse gets really bad, you can console yourself with not caring.

Morning all, had a bit of bad news last night. My girlfriend/partner/preferred mammal has been put on leave from work and likely won’t be going back there, so her job hunt starts today. At least the weather is nice for it.

Morning,
The treacle train tracks at Glasgow seem to have solidified over night and trains are running. For now.
I've got a small blister where some fairly new birkenstocks are rubbing. The only plaster we had was either doc mcstuffin or frozen. I opted for the medical professional.
It's another cracker day.

Morning!
Last night I didn't feel my heart could take more football surprises (in case Brazil, too, would be sent packing) and, knowing that Destry would choose a Skyrim picture for today's box, calmed my nerves by crawling through the Midden. From there I found the way out onto the cliff, slid down, collected Nordic barnacles and such things and then discovered the tragic remains of the person who got his leg in a bear trap and their loyal friend who died with them. Being so close to Winterhold they could have dialled 911 and be rescued. I also found Rundi's altar, returned to the college and was, as usual, accosted by another dragon in the courtyard.
Yesterday also got a bit taxing as our bin had been collected, and I discovered that in the process of emptying it a bag containing cat mess had ripped open and the contents were now at the bottom of the otherwise empty bin. So I was amusing myself by diving in with a pooper scooper and retrieving the pellets of goodness. I have just one comment on yesterday's cat discussion, and that is: if I'm willing to perform degrading tasks for the cat's sake on a regular basis, then at least I get to keep the ham for myself.
Finished the Roosevelt documentary, now in search of new viewing.

tenthenemyLike a good historical documentary do ya? Have you seen any of the Ken Burns docs on Netflix? The West is very good, as is the more-recent The Vietnam War.

These Fortnite updates are all very generous, but it's a nightmare for those of us living in low bandwith households. I suppose I could have read a book or something instead but went for staring into space. Heavy Rain - I actually liked it. After it's finished, you realise the plot is full of holes, but if you commit to it then it's pretty gripping. Miles better than Beyond Two Souls.

Aah shenguin. I used to be a cynical cold hearted bastard like you. But then I had kids,so now as well as being cynical and cold hearted I'm also exhausted, skint and depressed.

When the existential dread about the environment and the inevitable economic and societal collapse gets really bad, you can console yourself with Carling.
Well unless the CO2 shortage means there is no fizzy beer. Other (better) beers are also available. Though I have got quite drunk on Carling a few times and enjoyed the experience.

I need some higher bandwidth trousers. Relaxed fit they said!
I've lost all my gaming vim, I think because it is so hot. It just feels like too much effort.

Scubar Unlucky Gross Misconduct? Nope, basically giving her the chance to leave if her own accord with hopefully something from it, as opposed to other options. She’s had a couple of disagreements with them before but hasn’t actually done anything to warrant this. Bit of a shock but it could be a blessing in disguise.

Well if you aren't getting on for whatever reason it is better to leave. There are plenty of jobs around where she will fit in better. If she is being 'managed out' as it appears it is better to go quickly or to fight every step of the way and cause them no end of problems. Is she in a union? I'd recommend getting some (brief) employment advice as to where she stands. There are sometimes magic words which will strongly encourage the company to increase its pay off offer.

Someone tried to manage me out once. It went to review, which I won before promptly handing in my notice.
There's no joy to be found in a job when management don't want you, so hopefully your burd will move onto bigger and better things.

She’s speaking to the reps tomorrow, and they seem up for a fight, but she’s not liked working there for ages, so just going to try and get as large a settlement as possible I think. There’s loads of jobs she can do around, and plenty of opportunity for contract work, so hopefully just a small bump in the road. Maybe now’s the time to get her hooked on Dark Souls?
