Good Morning Gareth Fans!
Another hot night. Perhaps too hot. Poor sleep conditions. Need to acquire an Air Con perk. Anyway, looks like summer ends at the weekend, so there is that.
Didyouseethematchblog - hopefully Gareth will stop being stubborn and let the BRAVE YOUNG LIONS play a more attacking system in the knockout game on Sunday. Also, and it's in every commentator or pundits contract not to, but can someone please call out St Jude He Who Cannot Be Taken Off Bellingham for being probably England's worst player for two games running. Stop sitting on the floor, arms in the air moaning at the referee. Oh wait, what's that, he's on ALL the half time adverts, figures. Although Gareth has probably told him 'forget what rubbish Ancelotti told you at Madrid, listen up, this is how real football works. .. "
OTTM, ran out of Cornflakes, life ruined.

So what you footy types are telling me...
it's not the winning that matters? It's how you take part?
How woke of you.

I watched most of 'Snatch' last night. There's a wonderful line in it, "If you get in my way again, I'll cut off your fackin' Jacobs."
I must use this on one of the neighbours.

One we've got Eddie Howe or Graham Potter in charge we'll be unstoppable. Might as well give us the world cup trophy now

Anyone played the Fortnite Reload mode? I'm liking it. Mayhem. It's my daughter's last day of primary school. Thought the pm would be totes amosh when she left but apparently not. Not totes amish thanks autocorrect, she had coloured lip balm and the fake nails from last night's prom still on. Hello I played Fortnite Reload but didn’t like it. I don’t like respawning when you die. I kind of feel … that when you die that should be it, unless you’re rebooted. Good to have that peril.

Or maybe Mourinho. He can use the 9-0-Kane formation he perfected at Tottenham

"We’ve made England fun again" Not my words the words of the soon to be former England manager. Th team was booed off at half time and stuff was thrown at him at full time. I'd suggest that perhaps large numbers of fans don't think 3 stinking performances and 2 goals are 'fun' even if we did win the group. I think he meant it was fun for the players again, which was why the team actually started to do well.

I like Gareth Southgate. I think he’s pretty good. I assume the performances recently have had something to do with tournament and game management. The attitude and entitlement of some England ‘supporters’ is grim to see.

Is football good Bovril and spam or as it's in Germany currywurst? Saying that currywurst and a stein would go down well now, but too hot for lederhosen though.

It is true that the last few performances have looked uninspiring, but for the 20 minutes after Cole Palmer came on last night the team looked much better (I thought )…
Before then there were players just walking round at times, which looked odd for a modern game of football, where’s there usually a lot of running and ‘pressing’. After Cole Palmer came on the team did seem to start running though. I kind of assume there was a plan … To conserve energy maybe … I mean it was only the early stages, with progression secured …..

Lolz. Your calm and measured analysis is not welcome here. Are you even English?

Put Belinghamsy deeper, alongside Ricey. Then unleash Colesy as the 10 without having to drop Saka-y. Then TAA up front because he's good at shooting. It's not rocket science.

I blame Gareth Southgate for the bout of flatulence I'm currently experiencing.

I mean, why don't the players just have a meeting amongst themselves and sort out their own positions and strategy. Gary can do the subs.
Sorted.

Wait, not drinking pints of wine in public is a plus? I need to have a rethink. It's ok in Dundee. Marks you as one of the posher street drinkers.

Sir Harold would have won the golden boot by now if those banana straightening bureaucrats at UEFA hadn't banned him from playing in his preferred Medieval Crusader Knight outfit.

Might it help if he spent more time shooting at the goal and less shooting at St Gary of Lineker? I do not know, it's just a possibility.

The attitude and entitlement of some England ‘supporters’ is grim to see. I am not entitled. I am also not going to change my attitude towards Gaz. He is a man out of his depth in (international) football management He got lucky with the draw in 2018. 2020 was well weird as England played every game in 2021 and at Wembley with no opposition fans. Even then he managed to lose to Italy over 35s.

Going out in the "Easy" side of the draw is worse than losing to Germany in the 16th round.

GO fetch to me a pint o' wine, An' fill it in a silver tassie, That I may drink, before I go, A service to my bonnie lassie. The boat rocks at the pier o' Leith, Fu' loud the wind blaws frae the ferry, The ship rides by the Berwick-law, And I maun leave my bonnie Mary. The trumpets sound, the banners fly, The glittering spears are ranked ready; The shouts o' war are heard afar, The battle closes thick and bloody; But it’s no the roar o' sea or shore Wad mak me langer wish to tarry; Nor shout o' war that’s heard afar— It’s leaving thee, my bonnie Mary!
Not my words, the words of Robbie "Rolling" Burns.

Even if we were to win the Euros there will still be large parts of the fanbase complaining that it was only because of an easy draw, we still played shit etc. I honestly don't think even winning a trophy would be enough
