Books
I finally got around to reading The Ministry For The Future by Kin Stanley Robinson.
I did not really like it.
I thought it was too long a bit repetitive and should have been two separate books.
And it was a bit repetitive.
I didn't think mixing the story and the sciency bits the way he did worked that well. It can do, but I found it jarring.
Also I didn't find the story that compelling. I thought the heatwave at the start was done well, but it gradually tailed off and wasn't in the end up to much.
I don't think the prose was strong enough to support the book. Workmanlike rather than inspired.
And the book was too long.
Did I say it was repetitive as well.
It was ok I suppose. Some of you nerds might like it a bit more than I did.
