Morning all!
We’ve got works-people over today and tomorrow (well that’s the plan anyway) to fix some lead flashing, skim the bedroom and fix a crack in the ceiling, and sort out some blown bricks.
Spent the last few days demolishing some inbuilt wardrobes, so did a tip-run on Saturday. Kitted the back of the ID.3 out like a panel van: seats down, sweet tarp on the floor, then created a cocoon of corrugated cardboard to protect the interior before loading up the screw and nail infested laminate remnants.
TVblog: The Expanse. The rings are open, and belters have settled on Ilus/New Terra. Also a few more episodes of Culinary Class Wars.

I'm watching The Expanse too - I think I've watched s1 three times and never gone further. I really like it, I just keep stopping for whatever reason and have to start again when I go back to it.
You can borrow that anecdote for the tradesman chat if you like, for when your football banter dries up.

Hello. School holidays. Persuading the child to come into Glasgow shopping by attempted guilting her over her mum's birthday present, and also telling her we're going for lunch.
"Where?" She asks.
The approved lunch spot has yet to be decided.
I want to go to the social enterprise place with the MASSIVE caramel shortbread, but the child probably wouldn't like the sandwiches/toasties; too fancy and or mayo.
Last night I played a bit of Sleeping Dogs. I'm becoming a big deal in the Hong Kong Triad.
We watched some new thing on Apple TV with Cate Blanchett/Kevin Kline & Sacha Baron Cohen. It's good, but Apple TV describing it as a "seven episode event" or something equally wanky nearly stopped us trying it.

Topical workmen banter? Mention Lee Carsley is at best a Southgate clone who produces best results adhering to the previous tactics.
Mention "The fackin' FA should get Guardolah in, we'll be winning the lot then".
Also "Starmer's doing well shit isn't he?".
That should get amipal through the first 5 minutes.

Re Shogun chat, That is pretty much how the West would have viewed the Japanese back in the 1800's, due to most of the people wearing Zori or open toed clogs and 'robes'. Only a few high end Japanese political types and Imperial types would have worn a western style suit in an attempt to look 'forward thinking' and modern. K

Only a few high end Japanese political types and Imperial types would have worn a western style suit in an attempt to look 'forward thinking' and modern. K Wiki says it's set in the 1600s. Yes that too, early western visitors were sometimes seen as demons or spirits as most Japanese had never seen anyone outside of Japan, typically 1600's to 1800's was the pre western trade period when they were just finding out about other countries properly, some sailors and pirates would on occasion ship wreck there but were not treated in a hospitable manner and mostly killed. When the west brought their large ships to port it scared the living daylights out of the Japanese and an uneasy truce was made. I believe Dr. Stephen Turnbull is the best read for an understanding of historic links.

I have watched the first 3 Saw films, they get worse each time but some good gore. I assume the Cary Elwes character died in the first one?
Mrs Fark won't allow me to get a Saw mask for Halloween.

If you wear a dressing gown for day wear, put you hair in a pony tail and carry a katana you'll still look nothing like a samurai or shogun. Dead ringer for Rob Lindsay though. If RobL is a terribly dressed mid 40's Brummmie.

Morning
Been to the quacks earlier and had some of my mutant blood taken. Didn't get a sticker or a lolly. The NHS is broken. Thanks a lot, Starmer.
Lunchblog - hotdogs with onions, tomato ketchup and French's mustard. Lunch doesn't get any better.
OTTM, haven't see Shogun/Shenguin.
