Yeah hoping to keep it under 200, and the one I had sounded pretty good through my amp and speakers. Would go higher if I hadn't spent so much on vinyls last week.

The Audio Technica ones are supposed to be good.
I had an RP1 for ages which was very good.
I replaced it with an RP2 (bought in a sale)after damaging some of the wires on the RP1....
I don't think the upgrade made a massive difference to the sound - except in so far as I moved from a non-functional to a functional record player.
I'd like to say the stereo imaging is better and it all just seems a bit more coherent and focused, but honestly I couldn't tell much difference.

I have just bought a VINYL, from a VINYL shop. The most pleasing part is the guy who runs the shop was extremely chatty with all the other customers, getting their names and emails for their distribution lists, asking them what they were into, making recommendations etc. When he got to me he just gave me the nod, scanned the record, and pointed to the card reader. The decades I've spent honing an air of unsociablity are really paying off

I think that is their pricing. £20-£30 for a single disc, £40-45 for 2 discs £55 for a 3 disc set. The price of music remains a mystery. If you will accept FLACS then HD Tracks and Qobuz often have bargains. I appreciate you won't like these bands (or have heard of them for our younger viewers) There was an LP only Elvis Costello set a couple of years ago that was £200+ or £25 on Qobuz. There is a Dylan live CD that is over £100 for 4 CDs and something like £20 for a download. |

Here's something I don't get. Walked past a young guy on the coastal path recently. He was on his own, sitting cross legged in a quiet spot while staring contemplatively out across the water and listening to 200bpm dance music on a massive stereo at about 20 thousand decibels. Wtaf?

At midnight, I had to go downstairs to check on some loud noises. Sounded like the cat running around, but with added furniture-smashing…
Opened the door, and saw some of the boy’s Lego all over the dining room floor, and no sign of the cat!
He was hiding under the sofa. Reckon he’d got caught in a drawstring-bag, which he’d then run around whilst caught in, and dragged everything and anything behind him. Carnage.

I went to GT News to pick up some Jaipur and this annoying woman was spending ages at the til sending back endless packages of returned clothing. Then when she was finally done the next customer was another woman again asking to return clothing via the post!
